@DVon18 I am also using Linens, Things and More too for my chargers, table linens, cake table, brown chivari chairs, welcome table and our sweethearts table.  I would love too see what your set up looks like after your wedding!

@@soulgroovy and @@MichelleT have either of you gotten quotes on doing anything different in the package? I asked about bringing down burlap and just draping it over the wedding arbor and I was told that they can supply the burlap and bring in "experts" to put the fabric on and it would be an additional $200! I was literally blown away. It is something super simple that I could have done myself standing on a chair with 2 pieces of burlap but they won't allow me to do it myself. It just is making me afraid to see any other ideas I may like and want to have her quote me on. I thought about making our own chair signs ("Mr" and "Mrs") and then something matching for the dessert table (maybe a "love is sweet" banner) and I feel like I am going to be charged just to have someone hang it over the side of the chair! I know when it comes down to it these are NOT important details of my wedding day and I can do without them BUT there are some little touches that I would love to have for some pictures. Sorry I am venting but just wanted to get your opinions. Also, if you guys have chosen your flowers what did you go with? I originally wanted white flowers and succulents and was told at our site visit succulents were included but now have been told they are not so I need to send her pictures of what I want to see how much they would charge to add a small amount of succulents in (literally just want 1 in my bouquet and in each of the centerpieces). As far as the white flowers the only choice that I liked was roses but am afraid I won't be able to use roses exclusively.

@@hyoungquist It's quite disheartening to hear that they want to charge you for making your wedding personable. If you are providing the items and placing them where you want....why should they charge you?? I haven't even figured out what personal touches I would like to add so this concerns me once I do!! How did you find out what flowers were included?

That was something I planned to have as a personal touch!! One more question...when you say that there is a $400 dollar vendor charge...what does that mean?

Do any of you ladies know how the tables are set up? Like for example will the wedding party have their own table or just the bride and groom? I did get an idea of how the ceremony will go...and since it is the sunset package that I wanted, Lupita said it will start around that time which could be between 6:30-7:00 mostly depending on when the sun will set around September of 2015.

@@DVon18 the vendor charge is what I have to pay for every outside vendor that I will have onsite the day of my wedding (i.e. photographer, hair & makeup, etc.). If you just e-mail Lupita and let her know what colors you are wanting she can send you a list of all of the flowers that are included in your package. You can send her pictures as well and she can let you know what the extra charges would be. I had found a wedding from this summer with the colors of flowers that I wanted so I sent her the pictures and she said that those were included in our package (YAY!)

How the tables are set up will probably depend on where you have your reception. There are a couple of different areas that can be used. If you want, when I did my site visit I took some videos of the different areas and I can e-mail them to you. We chose the terrace which overlooks the harbor and the Mexico coastline since our ceremony will be on the beach (Pacific Ocean) and it will be a change of scenery. Up on the terrace there are fire pits, a private bar and a stage for the DJ to set up on. It looked to be pretty new and was such a beautiful spot! The other reception area is in an indoor palapa right up from the beach.

@@hyoungquist Yes please send me the video. My wedding is also on the beach!! Lupita told me that the reception would take place on the tortuga deck and the reception at the Palapita Salon. I didn't realize there are other options. I'll email her my wedding colors and find out what's included!! My email is soulgroovy75@@gmail.com.

Thanks!!! :)

I have a question regarding guests who stay outside of the Sandos Finisterra resort. Has any one gotten a quote from Lupita for guests staying outside of the resort? I have 2 guests who are not staying at the resort and I asked Lupita what the fee would be for external guests and she told me the fee was USD 199 per person which seems steep since they won't be coming I site until 6 pm, plus the fact that I have over 45 guests now confirmed so I am paying 99.00 for each additional guest. This basically means I am paying $600 for this couple to attend. I dug around online and I found out day passes range from $40 to $60 depending on the amount of time they want to spend in the resort and the time of day. This is somewhat upsetting news to me as I figured there would be a charge but not $199 per person in addition to the what I paid for the wedding, especially when a non-guest who has not paid a few thousand dollars plus brought in an additional 20 rooms can purchase a day pass for a fraction of what they want to charge me. My contract just states there would be additional fees for guests not staying at the resort, I should have asked for clarification...I know better.

That is crazy!!! Why charge so much and they aren't even there for the whole day??? Please keep us posted on what you ladies find out!!

@@MichelleT it stated in my contract that any guests attending the wedding not staying at the resort is $199. Double check your contract to see if there is something in there. If there isn't maybe you could ask to just pay the guest pass rate. Worth a try.

@@DVon18 @@soulgroovy I just e-mailed you the video of the terrace area. Sorry this is the first time I've watched it and its pretty horrible. But basically it starts with the video at the stage and then to where I would assume the dining tables would go (there are 2 gas firepits here) and where you get the best view of the harbor. From there I turn towards the bar and in the back of that area is the gym and the cupcake shop which I believe would be closed during your reception. I have a bunch more pictures and videos so just let me know if you want anything else.

Yesterday they cancelled my wedding and offered us either a later date or to relocate to a sister resort. I am in the process of trying to move to the cancun resort and hoping they can still give us the same dates. Sandos said they will be closed for at least a month but the was hit bad and will more time to recover. Both usairways and delta are waiving our transfer fees for flights. I am concerned I may lose my photography and linen deposit at this point but we will see. I'll keep you posted as I know more. I wouldn't worry yet

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
