Wedding Favors And Oot Bags?

Recommended Posts

Ya I'm thinking it's the gesture as well...stuck with what I have..just means we will have to get up for drinks more often but probably a good thing ;) sober up a bit the walk and waiting to fill them hahhaa.... and they are still bigger than the cups the bar gives..

Oh yes I forgot I also bought large orange clothes pins kinda like the Boca clips but cheaper for my guests

My BM attended another DW where they didn't even get a wedding favor!! When she sees all the little things I am doing it blows her mind!  Trust me, the 20oz cups will be an awesome hit!!  And you are right, it can sober you up hehhee!   God it's going to be a blast isn't it? We can't wait.

With our massive bubbas, we could fill it in the AM and it lasted until lunch!!  They are pretty massive.    In Mexico their resort cups weren't overly small, but in Cuba they only fit 1/2 of a beer (yes 1/2!!!). They were pathetic.

What are the clothes pins for?

Yes I finally found Boca clips but they are a little pricey to be buying so many of them. But the large clothes pins I'm sure are going to work the same.. for way less as I found them at dollarama ;)

I think we've decided to do both.. but, for the OOT bag we aren't even going to use bags. I felt like we had two options for the bag part... either purchase bags that are disposable or purchase bags they can reuse. Well, the disposable ones would end up being a waste of money because well, they get thrown away...and I can't just throw money away (especially since we are having 50+ guests). As for the reusable bags, it seems like many people usually bring a beach bag. So, I'd rather save a little money there.

We are going the Bubba route.. soooo I think we'll fill the Bubba with gifts and tie a little welcome note to the handle.

For favors, I think we'll do something like a tequila glass with their name on it - AND - that can double as their place card. (I got the idea from a picture that Del Sol Photography had posted)

We are waiting until December-ish to start purchasing all of these items because that's when we requested guests return reply cards by.

Does this make us sound like we are being cheap and/or not thoughtful and appreciative of our guests traveling to our wedding?

pddcmc what size bubba are you giving? I felt the same way about bags...it would of cost alot to buy a bag big enough to be useful for our guests..

calgarybride2015 yes I have 2 of the 54 oz ones we took one on occasion but I was too embarrassed to use them lol.. I figure even though our cups are small they will still be a conversation piece because there will be so many of us using them and they are bright orange ;) plus they will be personalized.. The clothes pins are for securing your towel to the beach chairs so it doesn't blow away ;) not a complete necessity but it does help it from blowing around

OOT bag - Out of town bag :)

They usually have little knick knacks in them... it seems like a lot of brides put things like chapstick, immodium, advil, aloe, etc in them. And some brides even add fun things like crosswords, sunglasses, english to spanish phrases

I think we want to do 34-oz jugs in our colors.

@@pddcmc awesome!!!, basically it will be something like "welcome bag"?

Would you need to do both (favors and welcome bags) or just one?

I was planning to give them the welcome bag (AKA OOT I think) during my welcome party and have a small favor on the table.

OOT bag---would you do a glass jar and put something in it? the jar idea sounds great

@@pddcmc ha ha sorry I meant jugs not jars...going crazy here (I was thinking of glass for a jar)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
