@Binzster  Yes it's awesome, we can definitely share info! I'm 99% sure we're going with Marcia Roberts for our photography, her photos are beautiful and her prices are good too. I'm actually reviewing the contract right now  :)

I've heard very good things about Kevan Stewart! I think I may go with the DJ the Royalton has, I hadn't really thought too much about an outside DJ yet.  Hmmmm.  Let me know what you decide!

What was ur quote from Marcia and kevon

Hi everyone! Looking at getting married at the Royalton white sands as well (2016) but having doubts as I have never been there! So scary to go into it blindly! I've looked up info on all the Royalton resorts wedding packages- we visualize a sunset wedding near the beach and a private function afterwards- does anyone have any recommendations of where/what to request (if we have a choice).. Also wondering for those who have been there personally what the beach is like, it's very important to have a nice beach as we spend the majority of the day there- I've seen mixed reviews on trip advisor. Thanks for any info:) -J

Hi @@JennaMC, congrats on starting to plan your wedding!! We visited the Royalton last May to start planning ours, but we didn't stay there so I can't say too much about the beach. But I walked on it for a few minutes to take some pics and the sand was nice and soft and the area was very clean. We're getting married at the beach gazebo at 2pm (the 4pm slot was booked already) and then having our reception poolside at night. There's a garden gazebo and also the beach area for ceremonies, and you can do your private dinner poolside or on the beach. There may be a few more options but I'm not sure because once I heard poolside I was in  :)

Feel free to message me with your email address and I can send you some pics.

Happy Planning! Our wedding is 2 months from today, yay!!!!!

Thanks @@Soon2beMrsJ

And congrats as well! My coordinator has just sent me some options.. I'm wondering what you gals are planning for music for the reception? Are you taking your own? I've been to destination weddings before where they were able to have a DJ play, however this resort doesn't have a disco so I don't know who would be available- I guess outside vendors? We are a younger group (I'm 28 and Stephen is 30) and most of our friends are our age- does anyone have any input re the nightly entertainment? Or going off site? Ie. Margaritaville for a night. - I've read some reviews that have stated the there is no nightlife at all!

My email is jen_mc@live.ca :) thanks again!

@@JennaMC We're having a DJ for all 4 hours of our poolside reception, the resort has one for a set amount per hour or you can hire an outside DJ. He will set up and we'll have a dance floor and everything, it's going to be awesome  :)

I've heard about the slight lack of nightlife at the Royalton as well. Since most of our guests are either older family members who wouldn't need too much craziness or friends who have young children so "nightlife" to them is having a dinner without crying, bottles or missing bedtime, so I'm not too worried about there not being a dance club or anything at night. But Margaritaville sounds great! The majority of our guests will only be there from Thurs-Sunday with the wedding being on Saturday, so not too much time to leave the resort for us.

I'll email you some beach pics today.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
