a few questions/concerns I have:

i love the gazebo setting for the ceremony.. however, im not sure about the actual reception.. i have close to 100 people, and wanted something more formal.. do you, or anyone actually know if the RPRM has something like this? or is it really casual in one of their restaurants.. ?? and is it more like just dinner, or can I actually have an entire party there? i like the riu but i dont know if i need to find a different hotel with more of a hall available?

I saw people with other photographers there? is the only way of getting them them in by getting them a room overnight? i wanted an outside photographer because i wasnt sure if the resort one was any good? any info?

The Bota Fogo restaurant is pretty formal and can fit 100 people. The RPRM also has the Dan Manolo (I think that's what it's called) main restaurant which is bigger. They only offered me Chillis or Bota Fogo...other restaurants are off limits. You can always ask.

You could contact Edith or Cynthia at email: weddings.playacar@riu.com to inquire, but they might take forever to respond to you if you haven't booked your destination wedding with them. You can also call them:

As for the photographer, yes, it's the only way they will allow outside photographers is if they are guests.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
