Starting To Plan - Need Tips

Recommended Posts

Good evening, I am new to this site. My fiancé and I are very much interested in Punta Cana, we have been there and we loved it. Any tips on where to start? Which resorts do you all recommend? Thanks in advance!

Welcome. Best place to start is here!!! You found it! BDW is a great resource. read a bit about the resorts people are posting about- tons of great threads and answers to nearly every question you can think of (and then some!)

You have to research resorts...Only you & your fiancé know what you are looking for. So we can't help with that. Once you pick a location, there are MANY great ideas and resources- (templates) on this site.

Good Luck!

Welcome and Congrats!!   I'm not much help with your desired location but you can find lots of  info on here.  Use the search bar to find things about specific resorts or the general area.  When you are ready to start looking into details I am sure you will have no problem finding a lot of very useful information (if for some reason you can't don't hesitate to just ask!!)

Congrats!!!  As the other ladies have said...you will find a wealth of information on this site.  Look at the resort reviews and at tripadvisor.  Those will help you to narrow down the resorts that will fit your vison and needs.

Good Luck and happy planning!

Yay how exciting! I can tell you that I had an amazing time and all of my guests loved the Bahia Principe Esmeralda Don Pablo Luxury Collection resort. It was incredible. I've heard many amazing things about hard rock but one of the comments a lot of people make about that resort is it is very Americanized (and very pricey). The Bahia Principe Resorts are affordable and incredible so take a look and see what you think! There is a lot to consider so like others said only you will pick the best one for your taste!

My #1 tip is think about your wedding day and what you want it to look like. I hated the idea of a million people on the beach while the ceremony was happening or to be hurdled around as there were 3 other weddings that day.... Which is why I choose the Esmeralda. It's right beside a very good restaurant called Kukua that has wedding packages and much more privacy! Look it up for more info :)

Goodluck and don't forget to gave fun!

HI,

Welcome to this site. I am getting married in Punta Cana April 17, 2015. We chose the Melia Caribe Tropical. Reason being is because it has an adult only section as well, which is what my fiancé and myself wanted. We first looked into Adults only and came to realize that some family members couldn't go if they couldn't take their kids with them. So we tried to make everyone happy by going to a family friendly resort and then my FI and I can get what we want by having an adult only section. So if that's kind of what you are looking for you can look at this hotel. The grounds look very beautiful as well. Check it out on trip advisor and perhaps add it to your list of resorts to research.

Happy Planning and let us know how it goes.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
