"cheap" Wedding Flowers?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering the same thing. I really like alstroemerias (Peruvian lilies) because they are delicate and have a lot of color to them. I know they have Mexican Lilies there, but I'm not too big on them...

I was recently married in riveria maya.  I decided to go with a florist not associated with the resort- marvin from maya floral.  His prices were amazing and I suggest you check him out.

Azul beach (where I was married) is associated with Lomas travel.  Lomas wanted to charge $350 for my bouquet. $225 for the bridesmaids and $250 for centerpieces.  They said the reason they were so expensive was bc I wanted orchids and hydrangeas and they are imported flowers.

Maya floral charged- $170 for my bouquet, $65 bridesmaids, $75 or $85 for centerpieces (can't remember)

I was told the cheapest flowers in mexico are roses, lilies, and gerber daisies

I did not pay an outside vendor fee.  Maya Floral was able to deliver the flowers right to the lobby.  I don't think Azul was very happy about it but they permitted it.  when the flowers were delivered my husband and groomsmen picked them up in the lobby and took them to the wedding offices. Everything was already assembled.  I didn't choose anything thing crazy bc Azul would charge an arm and a leg if they had to do any assembly.  All they had to do was place them on the tables.

So happy with the results and I saved soooo much.  I thought about fake flowers but then I would have to bring them down with me...and really? what would I do with it after?  it would just sit around collecting dust bc I would feel bad throwing it out.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
