Hi Everyone,

Have you tried the resort reviews section? As well, what about the forum for that resort? Here is the one that I found:

www.bestdestinationwedding.com/.../64181-2013-melia-caribe-tropical- brides/

Then there is also a review

www.bestdestinationwedding.com/.../20646-melia-caribe-tropical-all- inclusive/

Hope that helps! Good luck and happy planning!

Hi Everyone and congratulations on your upcoming wedding. I fell in love with Melia Caribe Tropical but wanted to bring an outside photographer. I kept reading where some brides were asked to pay a $1000.00 outside vendor fee and some brides were asked to pay a pass for $100.00. I just received confirmation from the wedding planner that you would need to pay both the day pass of $100 and the $1000.00 fee. I was so upset about this and there is no way around it.

We are using Katya Nova for our pictures and I am in love with her work. She gave me some ideas of having the wedding outside of the resort at either Jellyfish Restaurant or Huracan Restaurant. By the time you add everything up, it comes almost the same price.

Hi @@BeatriceTesoro

I am also going with an outside photographer (HDC) and I too found the price outrageous but I really wanted the HDC and they are a good price for what you get as opposed to going with the resort photographer. I am getting married at Melia but having my reception on La Barcaza wedding boat and I feel that for just a ceremony it's a pretty high price to have to pay for just them to take pictures at the resort of me getting ready and possibly a half hour ceremony. Then we will be leaving the resort to go on the boat where he will take more pictures. So not all my wedding is spent at the resort.

When is your wedding in May? What is it you have done so far?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
