I believe you mentioned you had 30+ people but aren't going with the Ultimate package. Since you aren't having a cocktail hour and makeup and hair and other tidbits the Ultimate offers. The Buffet from Silver plated is more... is that correct ? Or does it wash?

And does anyone know if calculating from plated to buffet if I have 40 guest...whether I multiply the upgrade charge by the entire 40 or multiply only the additional over 20.

@@phdtck1 yess for this dramatic veil! lol. where did you get that robe? i still  need mine and thats pretty

yes the welcome book is diy, i can post more pics when i get home! and ugh i really hope customs doesnt act crazy i have NO time for that!! gonna find as many receipts as possible which i hope wont be hard bc i ordered mostly everything online

@@smileitseb I found the robes on Piyama on etsy. I ordered a white robe with french lace sleeves while my girls will wear the print version. The downside is that the company is in Australia, so given your time crunch, you may not get it in time. Victoria secrets seems to have some nice white ones and I think their semi-annual sale starts soon - check Macy's and Nordstrom too - they always have random cute stuff on sale.

I just sent an email to the Maracas Mexico team - Are the prices reasonable? Dreams is charging waaaayyyy too much for their maracas favors ($8) - seriously?! LOL

I am still conflicted about bringing decor with me...chargers etc...Did you find that you will save a bunch? I guess I can stuff our things in the wedding party's suit cases.

@@phdtck1 yess i wanted a white robe with french white sleeves too but i think my time is running out. i was hoping i would get one at my bridal shower so I was holding out

yea i think i paid ~$260 for 60 maracas.... i guess it depends on what you consider reasonable

I'm bringing chargers because I believe DRC wanted to charge me $6 but I found them for $2. I'm also bringing chair sashes (DRC wanted to charge me $3) and mirrors to go under my centerpieces (dreams wanted to charge me $15 each)....i thought about bringing sequin table clothes but i just dont feel like lugging all that stuff. some things i am just biting the bullet to pay for convenience

im not asking any of my wedding party to bring anything, but i get 2 free checked bags on delta to help with the cost and just gonna pay for the rest :)

@@phdtck1 yes, my centerpieces for 5 tables cost me $212, and include my candles, tea lights and holders . My 3 friends will carry them on in their carry on luggage. Because the lanterns have glass to avoid them breaking in transport. I need to find out who will purchase my items while I'm down there. Also, my lanterns will line the aisle at the wedding. So we will get double use out of them. Dreams wanted to charge me $40 per little pot for real flowers! NO WAY. I'm getting silk. My aunt is having those made and will bring those with her.

I didn't get a robe for my shower so I definitely have to get one. I will start on Etsy. I got my veil on Etsy, after the bridal dress store wanted to charge $250 I said no ma'am. Let's find another way. And I paid $25. I love it and guess what if it doesn't make it back from Mexico I won't complain. lol.

I am not willing to pay $35 per linen or $3 per napkin when I ordered my napkins and linen and it cost me less than $70. Those items are so light that I will pack them with my out of town gift items and use them as a bit of cushion.

@@Dec2015 I have the ultimate package, so I'm thinking much like @@smileitseb that I'd rather have a longer reception OR use that money towards something else.

Another thing that I'm doing is instead of one of my centerpieces, I am going to exchange that for roses petals down the walkway. I need to find out if I need a aisle runner. If not, then I need to sell the one I have. Decisions decisions.

@@smileitseb thank you. I recall you mentioning that before I think. In that case, that is one less thing for me to lug. I will sell mine or donate it or something. Mine isn't personalized so I'm not going to worry about taking it over. Thank you a million. I'm trying to be organized. This is the only organized thing in my life right now. Because it's destination I couldn't run the risk of not trying to have some organization to my life. I also don't want to receive another thing in the mail for this wedding after May 15th. ugh! I have to start packing those things now as well.

@@smileitseb That is good to know!! Can you share the vendors that you used? Are you renting or buying your decor items? Yes..I was going to hold out on my robe too..but I wanted our robes to compliment one another so figured i would order my own...I like the fact that robes are long too. they should be fun. Also, was dreams able to confirm that they have the sweetheart chair you displayed in your pic?  I hope they have some good accent pillow choices too.  Sorry for all of the questions..I'm just happy to find you ladies.  I am trying to get it in before you get married and go missing..hehe.

@@Sheaka Where did you get your linens and other decor? I guess I need to start looking for myself...If you all are saying it's cheaper then I'm on it!  We are traveling Southwest airlines so they do not charge for the first 2 bags for all passengers. So that will be a relief. I'm just curious about how much these bags will weigh. ugghh

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
