Dreams Riviera Cancun 2015 Brides

Recommended Posts

The limit for customs per person is $500 if arriving by air, $300 if arriving by car.

It's a little confusing, because the website also says that personal items are duty free including wedding party items. So, i''m going to be safe rather than sorry and have my receipts and guest list.

@@calgarybride2015 did you declare your items or did you have the receipts only?

I've also seen $600. Funny how the info varies. I had one found what seemed like a legit Mexican site but should have book marked it.

No as as the tourist card basically asked us if I had more than $10k which I didn't. The other ones were more food and dangerous good related. I just had them ready in case and had no issues. No one searched us.

Going to google again to see if I can find that site.

I actually just found a site linked from a legit Canadian site that said $500USD, but I did find a Mexican tourist card that said $300USD -- looking more closely at it, I think it is outdated.

I would stick with the $500USD -- I apologize!!!   but atleast you get more and you now know :)

Outdated one but if you've never been to Mexico gives you an idea of the tourist card- http://www.aduanas.gob.mx/aduana_mexico/2010/Descargas/DECLARACION_ADUANAS_INGLES_18102010.pdf

Hey girls, not sure if this has been mentioned before but you can mix and match the food on the buffet menus, you are not stuck with just one! That made me so happy because I love a little from each. Just wanted to share, because my coordinator did not volunteer this info :)

@@smileitseb were you able to pick dishes off each buffet menu? Or just ask for a combination? Have you heard anything is particularly delicious or worth skipping?

@@phdtck1 well we have never actually met lol but we exchanged lots and lots of emails! I find a lot of ideas on pinterest and she makes it happen!. I'm not wearing a veil, are you? wearing a jeweled headpiece instead :)

@@smileitseb that headpiece is gorgeous!!!!!!

@@phdtck1 yess i wanted a white robe with french white sleeves too but i think my time is running out. i was hoping i would get one at my bridal shower so I was holding out

yea i think i paid ~$260 for 60 maracas.... i guess it depends on what you consider reasonable

I'm bringing chargers because I believe DRC wanted to charge me $6 but I found them for $2. I'm also bringing chair sashes (DRC wanted to charge me $3) and mirrors to go under my centerpieces (dreams wanted to charge me $15 each)....i thought about bringing sequin table clothes but i just dont feel like lugging all that stuff. some things i am just biting the bullet to pay for convenienc

im not asking any of my wedding party to bring anything, but i get 2 free checked bags on delta to help with the cost and just gonna pay for the rest :)

@@smileitseb did maracas Mexico ship the maracas to the resort. I remember you had some kind of payment issue. Was that all worked out ? Thanks for all your help!

@@SchroederWedding2015 I was able to pick and choose different things from different menus. My menu:

Salad Bar:

pasta salad

mixed greens with vegetables

chicken caesar salad

potato salad with scallions

homemade bread and rolls

seafood salad

Hot Dish: cajun roasted potatoes

creole pasta

corn on the cob

chicken breast stuffed with spinach

seafood casserole

Show Cooking: jamaican chicken

cajun beef brochettes

seafood paella

BBQ pork ribs

Dessert: coconut and rum cake

brownies

carrot cake

apple strudel

No I haven't heard anything specific about that food, I'm just going based on what I know I like.

Re the maracas, I didn't have any payment issue actually, that was another bride. But they are being shipped to the resort and will be arriving the day I get there, so cant give a full review yet but im sure it will be fine!

Hello everyone! My name is Yune and I just booked Dreams for February 27, 2016 (waiting for a confirmation from David). Sorry for crashing your forum, but there doesn't appear to be a 2016 one yet. I've ready through everything and my goodness, this has been so much help. I am so glad I found this website. We're hoping to do the wedding/cocktail/reception on the beach, but will confirm this is really what we when we do our site visit in two visits!

If any of you ladies have a moment, I was hoping you can email that budget spreadsheet that you got from David. I wanted to get started on a rough estimate of how much my dream wedding is going to run us. I will be forever grateful! My email address is [email protected] THANK YOU!!!

Looking forward to seeing more weddings as we progress through 2015!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
