Dreams Riviera Cancun 2015 Brides

Recommended Posts

HI ladies!

I got married on April 29th and it was AMAZING! We had the Ultimate wedding package.

We arrived at Dreams with all our guests on April 26th. We packed swim suits and cover ups in our carry ons because we arrived around 11am. The resort took care of getting our luggage to our room and it made its way there before we did. From the moment we entered the gates we were pampered!!

Due to availability our room didn't get upgraded but it was gorgeous! We stayed in 2508.

Sunday we hung at the pool bar and took advantage of the pool activities.. the entertainment crew is so much fun! Sunday night we all met at the lobby bar for a little meet and greet.

Monday night we went out into Cancun with our friends for the Bachelor/ Bachelorette night (through Apple vacations)... Not the best experience due to the fact that they allow sixteen year olds in the bars.

Tuesday we played a lot of beach volleyball, beer ball, beer pong, pool games and again hung at the pool bar... Luckily most of our friends know how to pace themselves so it was a long day.

Wednesday... The BIG day... They were calling for 100% all week and until about 11am that morning... It didn't rain once all day!

We all had our hair and makeup done at the resort spa and we were all so happy with what they did! We all brought pictures on our phones of what we wanted. (4 bridesmaids, my mother and my grandmother.. and me!)

Ceremony was at the Gazebo.. We didn't go crazy with options. We had the basic setup and added the small flower arrangements to the gazebo. It was stunning. We got married at 6pm so there weren't many people in the pool and no one was on the beach.

We noticed a lot of the 4 and 5pm weddings people were still playing beach volleyball right behind the gazebo. Just something I noticed. Not sure if the weddings found it distracting.

Our cocktail hour was on the beach.. Again no upgrades and it was made beautiful. Highly recommend the Mexican mariachi band! They were so much fun.

Our reception was also held on the beach. We had 6 tables with lights under them, a light up dance floor and DJ. I loved it! There was definitely enough lighting with the standard lighting included. The DJ was awesome. He kept everyone on the dance floor. Our meal was the filet and we could cut it with a fork! It was that good.

Our guests left on the 30th and May 2nd. My husband and I left on May 7th. It was the perfect wedding week and honeymoon. The hospitality and food was five star!

I brought my own photographer so as soon as I get my pictures back from him I will share or feel free to friend me on FB.

I hope this helps ladies.. Any questions please let me know.

@@smileitseb Hi Lady!!

Do you happen to have the template you used for your welcome booklet? Instead of creating welcome bags, we agreed to do a video welcoming the guests and spend dollars on the party accoutrements. hehe. Also, how did you get everyone's pics? Did you ask them to submit or did grab from FB, etc.

Has reality set in yet? You're married!!! You were gorgeous too!

@@smileitseb Oh. were your bridesmaids gowns Amsale by chance?

@@phdtck1 hey girl! i actually don't have the template. me and a friend just designed it in adobe illustrator......do you have that?  i wanted the booklet to be a complete surprise so i already had mostly everyone's pictures on my side either from family events or facebook. i did have to ask his family for pictures which they didnt have, so i went to their house and took one on my phone haha. whatever works.

@@smileitseb cool! I will follow suit and grab pics..I love the concept and think the guests will like it! How did your guests respond when they received it?

So...David's older sister is wearing this watters gown (first pic- dress on the right-same color too) and the rest of my girls are wearing Amsale. (2nd pic) color scheme is blush. I thought it was cool that you selected a similar style..hehepost-282777-143169810964_thumb.jpgpost-282777-14316981213_thumb.jpg

@@phdtck1 once again, our styles are sooooooo similar. what are the odds of choosing basically the same dress? arent they gorg?

my guests LOVED the meet the guests booklet. they felt truly included and special to be apart of the book. also helped them remember names for the weekend or refer back to it when they went back to their rooms :)

@@smileitseb yeah..our styles are ridiculously similar!! Though I am wearing a veil I am also wearing a jeweled headpiece! I need something to jazz up this short hair! Lol also, I am obsessed with orchids and roses! I am torn between adding colors to my bouquet though. I may do all white and add the pops of color to the bridesmaid bouquets and corsages for the moms.

Oh..thanks for sharing your makeup experience!! I locked in the makeup artist's name you used! I will bring my own foundation and concealer and have her go to work on everything else! Did you get lashes? I may get extensions before we leave for Mexico..however, if she has the Mac strips I may do that instead.

@@phdtck1 yes girl! Lashes -- the spa charges $15 for those so I had my friend put the $1 lashes I bought from target lol on for me

@@fhk815 thank u so much! Did you see my pics on FB? What's your name ? :) I'll be posting my already written review next week! Just waiting on pics. Loved our welcome cocktail party and we didn't have music and we honestly didn't miss it, everyone was so excited to see each other so we were all just talkin and laughin which pretty much filled up the noise

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
