@@acw271011 thank you so much for the advice! I am on amols' site now and feel so much better about the prices!! Do you know if they offer to customize them so I can add our names and the wedding date? If not, then I will add that info on our shake me tags.

They don't. I wrote our names and date on the back with a sharpie marker. A previous bride used paint.

@@calgarybride2015 thanks for the update!! I may consider both the paint and sharpie options. Do you have a pic of your sharpie work? I may recruit my bridesmaids and have a painting party! Hehe

Some if the extra marks on the maracas were authentic markings not my marker lol. I was so scared to use paint as I am not that crafty so I stuck with the basics. I was happy with them. post-277873-143010347426_thumb.jpgpost-277873-143010352285_thumb.jpg

@@calgarybride2015 They look good to me!! I love your shake me tags too! I saw them last week and uploaded to my pinterest page. I am definitely borrowing the verbiage:)  I cannot believe how cheap Amols is...i feel so relieved!  Since my wedding colors are somewhat neutral, I am thinking of purchasing only white maracas and jazz them up with paint / sharpie and a fun bow and shake-me tag. I'm so excited! When did you decided to order your favors? I am thinking i will order after the last payment is due to our travel agent - so that way i will know for sure who is coming (June 20th).

@smilesitseb how do you plan to add the table number and verbiage on your shake me tags for the send off?

I ordered them around the time deposits were due. I ordered 6 extra (3 pairs) for just in case circumstances but didn't need them. I used the extras for friends back home who couldn't come, etc. I got the multicoloured ones because my theme was vibrant colors lol. The only ones I wasn't super happy with were the yellow ones as they looked like they needed another coat of paint. I used those ones last. I got the medium size and honestly all of them are different sizes so I would recommended not paying for the large.

I got that saying for our tags from another bride on here :)

I bought my tumblers a little later but still bought extra just in case and didn't need those either. I left some for the people in Mexico as our names weren't on them. Our fans I got later on so got the right amount lol

@@calgarybride2015 Makes sense! I'm assuming I should et my tumblers from discountmugs?

If you are in the states forsure. I'm Canadian and the shipping and custom duties fees were ludacris so like many brides on here I got them at Dollarama. Some also use dollar tree.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
