@smileiteb who is your coordinator? My is Elisa. I need to send her my stuff, I've been holding on to it. I just found out that a friend is coming that didn't go through the travel agent so now I gotta add her and her crew into the mix. I'm nervous that I will have to order extra gifts ugh.

@@smileitseb Ok...so I am in the boat regarding make-up. I was thinking of meeting with a make-up coordinator in Atlanta to learn to do my make-up, buy each and every product recommended and possibly record the artist applying to my face.  I am super skeptical about the salon at the resort so I want to dot my T's and cross my i's.  Who is doing your hair? I am bringing my hair stylist so she can give me some fun looks for the weekend activities. I just wish she did make-up too...ugghhhh!!!  Make-up is so important for wedding pictures so i feel you on having a back-up plan.

I am having a bit of a slow moment. Does anyone remember the issue about customs and receipts? Is this only relevant if we are selling items or even if we are bringing items in as gifts? If so, how would that work with our dresses? Those alone exceed any limit customs could give right? Am I being paranoid?

@@smileitseb my wedding is June 14 at 6pm at the gazebo we are doing the reception inside because I am concerned about my guests dying of heat exhaustion. We are doing the cocktail hour on the deck, I think. I have to look. Is anyone opting out of the cocktail hour and going straight to reception?

Makeup and Hair Options for the week has beyond stress me out. My hair is mid length and after a couple days my curls get difficult to manage. I'm hoping by December my hair grows out of the bob cut. Because I know me... if my hair isn't right nothing will feel and look right and it'll be written all over my face. Boo!

@@smileitseb Love Love Love your headpiece!! I have a short pixie do (so I will wear my hair super wavy / curly) so I think I will do both...whereas I wear an elaborate veil for the ceremony and then switch it up for the reception with a jeweled headpiece.  Where did you find yours? I am looking for a headpiece that has a mix of gold and silver to push the vintage look.  I am getting my cathedral veil custom made as they are super over priced in the stores. I am adding iridescent crystals to the hem to pick up the colors in my shoes and my girls' dresses. How do you add attachments? I want to share some pics

@@phdtck1 have we met? LOL you sound JUST like me!!!! bringing my hair stylist and freaking out about my makeup. so I found some pictures and going to sephora and mac to get all the makeup and getting them to help me learn it all. my friends have agreed to touch up if i hate how the resort does it. i really wish i had a professional makeup artist friend!!!

your look sounds beautiful!! when i saw the costs of veils, i went a different route lol. I got the headpiece from etsy user GLIMOUR

@@Sheaka youre right around the corner!! I've heard that you should pack your receipts, but I dont know if I have all of mine anymore, just going to pack what I have and hope nothing is a problem. I'm only packing receipts for like the items I'm bringing (chargers, stuff for welcome bags, votives, etc) I dont think we need receipts for our dresses :)

I'm not having a cocktail hour, I opted to use that money to extend my reception an hour. There's still going to be a little break between the ceremony and reception for us to take pics and our guests can go to the lobby bar!

@@Sheaka Oh my gosh!!! I absolutely love this concept!! If only you could see my pinterest page...I think we are soul sisters!!! I was hoping they would have this type of chair for me and my future hubbie...and my hope was to incorporate metallics (silver and gold)!! Did the wedding coordinator put all of this together after you met with her a few times? I cannot wait til month 3 so I can jump in!!

I guess we are similiar because of the Atlanta in us!!! LOL. I am definitely looking forward to your pictures!   :)  Are you wearing a veil?!!

@@smileitseb so I meant to send the reply above to you!!! sorry for replying to you. I'm still getting used to this system...LOL

@@Sheaka  I feel you!! no sand in my toes or in my dress! We have to be ready for pictures!!! LOL.  How many guests are you expecting?  The budget is our big concern...we honestly did not think so many people of RSVP and submit deposits for the wedding. We are honestly still in shock! I am a project manager so I think I was too organized by giving folks notice so far in advance - but it should be fun to have 80 guests. I am glad you all mentioned that folks may still be attempting to attend even up to the wire.  We will have to make a decision on how many others can attend the wedding without breaking the bank. We are now telling folks that the guest list is closed but they are still welcome to travel but cannot attend the events as they missed our April 15th deadline to submit deposits and RSVPs. I'm thankful that we set a deadline so we don't lose ourselves...We think there will be a few exceptions but overall, we locked down the guest list.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
