Can't remember it it's $300 or $600 per person over and above your personal items. You can google it.

@@pddcmc and anyone else.... are you putting maps of the resort in the welcome bags? if so, are you just waiting til you get to the resort and grabbing some then?

We are printing the map on the back of our welcome letter, I think. However, we are still editing our Welcome Letter, so it's possible that the map will go on the front with everything. If you'd like, take a look at my planning journal - I just posted a picture of our letter.

@@pddcmc thank you for the packing list. I was looking for one of these. I'm so nervous about leaving something. One thing that I saw as a recommendation is to create a packing sheet for each suitcase so that you can double check your bags when you arrive.

@@smileitseb I can't wait to see your review of your experience with the makeup and hair peeps. I'm super nervous.

Is anyone taking items with them for decorations? How are you transporting? I'm taking some lanterns and am nervous about checking them because I don't want the glass to break. Also, what about bringing your decorations back to town. Are you shipping them back or carrying them yourselves?

Thanks and Happy Monday!

I will put maps in the bags. Have you guys already started working on your letter to the guests? Any extras planned?

I think the packing sheet is a great idea, but..if your luggage doesn't make it... you're out of luck because the list was with it, ya know? I think I'll use the idea, but keep the list of what's packed in each suitcase with me. Did you know that if your luggage isn't recovered, the airline will reimburse you up to a certain dollar amount, given you can provide very detailed info about the items in the luggage?

I am checking all items. We can't carry everything on the plane, so we are carrying on the "must haves," heaven forbid something happens to our luggage. (You will find me in a bar having a cocktail or two before we leave so ease my mind of everything little "what if" scenario... haha)

Most of my FI's family is from Mexico City and they don't even trust their postal service, but to each, their own.

@@pddcmc Yes I have the rough draft, designing it tonight on Adobe Illustrator, but then need to shop around for print shops because the price from vistaprint was almost $200 eek. It's really because of my meet the guests portion with all their pics lol

Who are you getting it printed through?

I had all my receipts, wedding info, and lost of what was in each suitcase with me on carry on too!! I also only carried on the must haves.

@@smileitseb I'm thinking probably Kinkos, but I'm not sure yet.

How did you word the dress code for restaurants on your letter? I don't like the resort's wording (even though I C&P'ed it on my rough draft as a place holder) and I can't seem to find the right words.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
