@@desmiv The reception is 3 hours. You can have a longer reception for extra of course, but if you have an outdoor reception, it cannot end any later than 11 PM.

If they are shutting off part of a restaurant to accommodate your guests, they will charge you for the organized rehearsal dinner/welcome dinner price. I was confused too because of the all-inclusive, but they explained to me that they are taking away business and tips from waiters as well as preventing other hotel guests from using the restaurant. They are also charging for the organization and essentially shutting off part of the restaurant for your party. If you have a smaller number of guests or people coming to the welcome dinner, you can go to a restaurant and hopefully get seated together. But it's not guaranteed.

And there is a free promotion going on, it's called the save the date promotion. Unfortunately I was not able to take advantage of it, they are pretty strict, because I booked my wedding back in March. You can email David Carrillo about this.

We're doing the hook-up for music instead of a dj, as well.

Has anyone found a good source for ceremony readings and vows? I requested the 'script' be sent to us...and to say the least, I am not a fan of it at all...

How is planning ceremony music and a first dance song going for everyone? We're working on that right now.

Completely random, but just wanted to share... I had a weddingmare two nights ago... I dreamed that our travel agent booked all of us at the wrong resort! AHHHH! Maybe I do have a little wedding stress and I just didn't realize it?!

@@smileitseb - If you're having a symbolic ceremony, I can email it to you if you'd like.

Yes, we are having the same dilemma for music lol

So, I asked Jake to start picking things out since he is being so picky :)

I also had a nightmare that I forgot to get my hair done...so then I was scurrying around trying to figure something out. My goodness.. I am kind of ready to just be done planning, ready to be laying on the beach...drinking nice frou frou drinks..and working on a tan...

@@nattiegams325, thank you for the info.

For the brides using their own playlists, will you be having someone announce you and your party into your ceremony or cuing when to do the cake cutting and stuff like that?

At a loss as to whether or not I want to pay for a DJ. So far everyone's input and advice has helped a lot!

Oh, sorry another question. For the sound system stuff, if you pay for using it during the ceremony do you have to pay a second fee for the cocktail hour/reception?

@@desmiv - Hm, that's a good questions... I haven't thought that far ahead. I know that if you do some kind of hook-up, you still get a technician.. so I don't know if they can do that part?

@@nattiegams325 - Which style room did you guys get? Do you have photos?

I am getting so excited for you! Your day is soooo soon!!! :))))

@@pddcmc thanks a ton! I will send you my email address :)

@@desmiv Yes we have an MC to announce us and other things thru out the reception :) and for the question "For the sound system stuff, if you pay for using it during the ceremony do you have to pay a second fee for the cocktail hour/reception?"....my understanding based on the budget spreadsheet is that there are 2 separate fees

@@smileitseb @@pddcmc every weddingmare I have gets more and more detailed as I plan more lol!

Bill and I just booked a regular room- not even an ocean view haha! We are hoping that they upgrade us once we get there since in the package it says they try but that it's based on availability. But to tell you the truth, it's okay if they don't- my parents got one of the suites so that's where we'll be getting ready. And we figure we won't be in the room too much anyways, so no big deal.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
