This may seem like a silly question but are you putting all the items in your OOT bags before you leave for Mexico? If so, how are you traveling with the bags? Will you put them in a separate luggage bag?

I'm not sure if I should have my bags done before I go or just bring all the items and do them while I'm down there.

Thanks for all your help!!

Sorry I've been away... but I am back.

Today I almost got a little misty eyes... Received my confirmation letter via email from David for my December 11, 2015 Wedding. *throws confetti*

So NOW I need to catch up with everyone...

One question I have is ... I requested the Seaside Grill and I was told reception could not start until 8p. Were any of the other brides told that when booking the Seaside Grill. I am freaking out because that leaves NO time for partying and to spend $1000 just to eat in their is not what I want to do. I want to PARTY and eat. lol

And you figure that is a LOT of dead time for my guest if I am having a 4:30p ceremony on the beach. I was told sunset is around 5p in December. Looks like Seaside Grill may not be a good option for me.

Did I read a bride having her reception at seaside at 7:30p with a 4:30p ceremony? Did your WC direct you to how the guest can spend the dead time and also... you mentioned no dance floor in Seaside. Is there a reason you are going without.. Curious.

Other than that... Looking forward to learning from you all (past and present brides)... I am sooo excited.

@@Dec2015 I was told the only option was 8-11pm but 2 weeks ago i was told they could accommodate me and do 7:30-10:30. Ceremony 430, cocktail 630, so we can go straight to reception.

Dance floor is always extra but my WC recommended we not get the dance floor in seaside because she basically said it was a waste of money. She said it's nice to have on the beach or pool deck but not in a restaurant.

I plan on assembling the bags when I get down there - will make for more efficient packing I think and they should not take too long to assemble - but I have fewer guests too.....

Also - I ordered some stuff off TheKnot.com back in November (Black Friday specials) and actually just got them today - apparently they had higher than expected demand so delivery took awhile......Anyway, we got the following:

1) Custom Mints - kind of disappointed, labels are already peeling off - looks like they don't offer them anymore on their site so clearly I'm not the only one that wasn't impressed with them!

2) Custom Deck of Cards - these actually turned out better than I expected - nice printing directly on the card.  We picked the stick figure bride & groom image - they turned out pretty cute.  I am not sure if I would pay full price for them but we got them 25% off so not to bad of a deal :)

@@landryfrost they are charging me $550 for hair and makeup with trial with the head guy (Adrian), without him it wouldve been $475 for the same services. They quoted me $625 once for Adrian, but luckily I had the original email that stated $550 and it had been another lady who responded to me. I've only been communicating with Yonatan now. Another girl just told me they told her $745! Just be aware of this...I think my price is fine but no way would we have spent more.

@@fhk815 we're not exactly sure 100%, but basically we're taking as much as we can in carry-on bags. The things that we can't bring with us on carry-on such as the hand sanitizers and aloe vera, we're just putting in the actual luggage and hoping that everything makes it okay :-) I was thinking of buying a cheap suitcase at Goodwill and then just leaving it at the resort when were all done.

@@Dec2015 i'm in the Chicago area as well, I've been using Deb Watt. She is located in Bartlett and works out of home, so she's always available and has been extremely helpful. She has handled all the bookings for all of us. http://jdktravel.com

Hi Ladies,

First let me say, Congratulations to everyone and best of luck with your preparations and final day!!

So, we're thinking about having our wedding at Dreams Riviera Cancun in 2016. I have read a lot of great tips from this forum and others and I have to say I'm getting pretty excited in knowing this resort might be the one.

With that said, I've notice some ladies mentioning they were sent a budget spreadsheet to help with their planning. I was wondering if anyone would mind sending me a copy so I can see how this would work out for me and my budget (before I get too excited)?

The have their pricing in the wedding guide on their website, but would be so much easier if already in a spreadsheet to help with calculating. I tried to see if I could export the information and make my own spreadsheet, but it looks like it will take more time than necessary.

Would really appreciate it. Thanks again.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
