@@smileitseb Yes! Both site visits (the initial one where we chose the resort and the 2nd 6 months later to meet with the WC and start initial planning) my fiance and I got the reduced rate of $110/person/night. Anyone else traveling with you does not get the rate though. And David is the right person, he'll connect you with reservations.

@@hsocorso - We're getting married on April 17th on the beach... it's a Friday...and we chose the beach for the ceremony and chose the deck for our reception.

Did they say why they are "making" you get married on the beach..were the other locations already booked? I assume you aren't too thrilled about any of this?

@pddcmc-They said the only other place is the ballroom but I'm not flying my guests to Mexico to party inside. We can pay an additional cost if we wanted to have it at one of the restaurants. I'd be fine with the beach reception if I was pictures of other receptions on the beach.

I know it will all work out I just wasn't expecting them to charge for every little thing. And I didn't realize I was so limited on reception options.

What time are you getting married?

@@hsocorso I agree with the ballroom...wouldn't want to be inside. We are getting married on a Monday. Ceremony at the gazebo (4:30), cocktail hour at the pool terrace, and reception at the Seaside Grille. We upgraded to the platinum menu.

And yes, nickel and dime for EVERYTHING. I am trying to negotiate a little but they are a wedding factory. I doubt they'll budge. I'm trying to play the...lots of upgrades and lots of guests I'm bringing so you better give me something back...game but I'm no good at it <_<

I am getting married April 29 2015 at Dreams. Is anyone else having their wedding on a Wednesday? If so are they making you do a beach reception as well?

I'm also getting married on a Wednesday but so far no one has contacted me. They said they would contact me within 3-4 months of my wedding date. However, I did book the ceremony for 4:30pm and reserved the pool deck for 6:00pm.

@@nattiegams325 When you went to the food tasting can you remember what they had for the silver, gold and platinum menu? Is there a big difference? Also are they still flexible about not using the cocktail hour and using that to add to the reception time?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
