Not for one second!! This is our dream wedding and we deserve to have it! Yes, I'm sad that some ppl can't come share, but it was important to us to do what we wanted! :)

It's great to hear that you both are still doing what will make you guys happy, but I'm still sorry to hear that. This is something that I am concerned about happening, too. I think your feelings are completely valid. I'm sure you'll still have a wonderful time. And hey, trying to find a positive, maybe it will be a little less stressful?

Thanks for the support ladies!!! I've had some time to kinda, "get over it" I suppose... I'm at least not angry about it any longer, just sad that they don't seem to share the excitment that we have over our wedding day... But oh well, like everyone is saying..... WE'RE GETTING MARRIED, IT'S OUR DAY, AND WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A FREAKING BLAST!!!

I am so sorry to hear this!  It is a real bummer not to have the family there with you.   I was also told by my parents and my fiancé that they won't be attending our wedding next year in Jamaica.  My dad refuses to fly.  He has flown before but states he will not get on a plane again.  Also, my fiancé's dad refuses to fly.  I was very disappointed but this is my second marriage and my father did walk me down the aisle the first time.

I know it is easier said than done but try not to take it personal.  Realize that this is about the life you are beginning with you and your fiancé.  It will make your bond stronger!  Adversity always does!

I'm sorry this is all happening at a time that is supposed to be a happy one! We had absolutely no one with us when we got married. Everything fell apart and it just snowballed. It very nearly split us up actually. It was second time around for both of us and we had been together 10 years. In the end it was my husband that put his foot down and said we were going ahead with our plans which was to get married in Jamaica. We had the 2 WCs as our witnesses but we had a wonderful time, I married the love of my life and we gave in and had an AHR for everyone that didn't come to Jamaica. We have grown kids and grandchildren so we knew for them it would be an issue but it all worked out in the end.

It's a tough pill to swallow that people don't seem as happy for you as you are. Keep positive about the fact that people that do go to Mexico for your wedding are definitely people that love and care about you both. You will be marrying the man you love in a tropical paradise. And you will be married! You can't ask for more than that. It's the end result that is important and if you talk to your photographer ahead of time, I'm sure they will be able to find a tactful way around the picture taking that won't make you FI feel so bad about not having his family there.

Good luck!! How are you making out with Gran Porto? It's still my number one choice, but I'm still so much on the fence about it. The crowded beach worries me. Grand Sunset Princess is an extremely close second choice but until some other things happen I can't go ahead and try to get a decision made. I'm the world's worst one for waiting!! lol

Have you thought about also having a home reception a few months after you get back so everyone that can not attend can celebrate with you? We are having one a month after we get back from our honeymoon in our backyard. We're thankful enough to live on 4 acres so we have the space to accommodate a huge party and save on rental costs for someplace to hold it, so we're expecting a ridiculous amount of people and it'll just be one big fun casual party.

I haven't doubted having our Destination Wedding but we have been surprised about specific people that have said no to attending. My brother and his family will not be coming. We thought at least he might and tried to pay for him to come down for only 2 nights so he can be there for the festivities but he still said no. It's upsetting but there can be so many other reasons besides $ that is keeping him from coming that he'd rather no discuss. My Fiance is always so positive and has always said that if it was just he and I; then he'd be completely fine with that. Now that we get closer to the date..less than 3 months, I completely agree.

Good luck and just remember it's your day and they are the ones that are missing out, not you two.

    • OMG these are incredible! Seriously blown away by the thoughtful detail you have put into every aspect of your gifts, your guests are going to be amazed! Props to you for adding so many personal touches and putting in so much time to make these gifts amazing!
    • These bags are amazing!! You are so organized and detailed, I am so impressed! I LOVE the Vistaprint stuff you ordered, the logo is so cute, I love your personalization!
    • I love etsy!! It's a great place to find personalized gifts without such a hefty price tag. I was thinking of getting my bridesmaids personalized necklaces with their names on them. I found these ones that are affordable and you can pick the chain length and different fonts, so you can really make them your own and pick what you know each bridesmaid will want. https://www.etsy.com/listing/595334072/personalized-name-necklace-stainless?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=personalized necklace&ref=sc_gallery-3-9&plkey=a8662525c53ec285c1b46b0f308162d0591edff8:595334072
    • Hi everyone, I am so happy that I am getting married to the love of my life. He proposed me and we are getting married within in a couple of months. And I have started preparations for my big day. I am super excited about a lot of things and also worried about many things.I have some inhibitions about my face and skin. Since I am a working woman, I have never got much time for personal care. This is the right time for it now. I need  proper medical grade skin care. Want to improve my skin tone and texture  I read some details about it here, https://www.mcleanclinic.com/nonsurgical-procedures/non-surgical/skin-care/, and found it really helpful. Can anyone of you suggest me some more tips? Like what I can do at home to have a glow on my face?  Thanks in advance.
    • I think you should approach the dentist. That would be the best idea as of now.
