Any Other Simple Decor Brides Out There?

Recommended Posts

@@calgarybride2015 I do have a guest book too, I forgot about that!  Love the idea of the pictures as the table numbers--I've been looking at cutsey ones on Etsy, but that would be more personable (and less expensive!)

Kim, I think you're the BDW guru of the moment so having your stamp of approval is reassuring :)

I can't decide if I am or not, haha.  Part of me wants to do lots of decor in bright, vibrant tropical colours, and another part of me just wants to keep it simple with subdued colours and just a few touches here and there.  I change my mind daily.

I think you can do simple touches in bright colors at the same time to have the best of both worlds.  A little bit of color will go a long way!

I haven't gotten the chair sashes yet, but I've seen several people post this site and they are like $8.50 for a pack of 10. I didn't think that was too bad, and I don't think they'll take up a ton of room. Heck, I can wrap anything fragile I bring down in them!

@@beckys98 I saw a really cute thank you card on Esty today. It was one that you print yourself, so it keeps cost down. Ill try and post a link in the morning.
I also like your fan idea! Your right about the heat. I saw a parasaw today that looked interesting. They were $5.00 each. I'm not having that many people coming, so I may do this. I'm still undecided.
Chair sashes are a nice touch! My resort has white chair covers as part of our package, and they kinda look plain to me. I'd rather bring them than get them from the resort as I believe they were very expensive. Where did you get yours? Or have you gotten them yet?

I'm not doing an escort card or table numbers as we will have less than 15 people. Maybe only 13 people.

I actually went a bit of a different route. Made my flowers from streamers instead of even looking for fake flowers.

I'm not sure how to add pictures to my post? But if you would like to see them I will happily send you a picture

@@Kayla88, that's cool. I've seen on Pinterest about making flowers from streamers. I was wanting to try to make these.

Hi Ladies!

Happy Wednesday :)

I just wanted to see if there was any other ladies on here who are having a simple wedding in terms of decoration and such? I keep looking through the forum here and seeing such wonderful ideas from other ladies so I feel like maybe I should do more?

I know every bride is different and it's just not me to spend tons of money on décor. Don't get me wrong, I am bringing down things for the tables and for the card table and lighting (Getting married at a beach club) and it's not going to look empty, I just am not spending the money on flowers or candles or for our ceremony décor like other women are... Not that anything is wrong with spending money on those things though!

Anyone else similar? LOL It would make me feel better!

I'm all about simple.  I just bought loteria cards, made paper flowers, using tequila bottles for vases, and getting a serape for the table.

Though looking at pictures, I think it's pretty and all, but at the end of the day, no one cares.  Really, no one cares.

I can vaguely remember what any of my friends had as centerpieces for their weddings, but I sure do remember the good time had :)

Simplicity is the best policy. Decoration is the integral part of the wedding ceremony and by seeing the decor styles online makes you feel that you also want this on your wedding. Even my friend  got married on long island and banquet halls in long island were decorated so beautifully, I felt like I wanted to be married at such kind of place.

But this just for visual pleasure and to give you ideas but it is not necessary that you should follow.

Just plan your wedding the way you want and according to your style and budget. If simple suits then great go with it.

Hi everyone, OH and I are just starting the process...trying to get the time off from work is proving the difficult part as we are eloping! I have the the hotel in mind and have dates from the Wedding Co-Ordinator ready! We are have a quiet "Just the two of us" package so we are keeping it ultra simple. Might just take sashes for the chairs (photo purposes) and stick to just what's included.

Everyone has their own idea of the "Perfect Day" and it will be as long as we do not lose sight of what is important ????

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
