@@Meandhim - We have! We got a good recommendation for an agent on this forum and switched. And to answer your question in the other thread, we're hoping to get married at teh Beach Palace in December 2014. Still finalizing all the dates and our group booking.

Hi all,

I'm from Toronto as well. Getting married Apr 2015 in Mexico. Haven't picked a resort yet. I find that part, the hardest especially since i've never been to Mexico.

@@mazarin - You should definitely get down if you get the chance. I know a lot of the resort chains offer a 3 night promo where you can do a site visit, and the cost is deducted from your final wedding cost! So you just basically pay airfare

Brampton/Toronto Bride here.  We are having a hard time deciding what country and what resort to go with.

We have been to Oasis Cancun in Mexico and Sandals in Antigua which we loved both.

We haven't been to Jamaica or the Dominican but have heard they are great for weddings.

Anyone have any advice on choosing an actual country?

Try to narrow down what matters to you most - cost, ambiance, nightlife, excursions, beach, food, etc.

We chose Cancun because we love the beaches there and because we wanted people to feel like they could go off resort easily. We like how there is nightlife nearby (big for us) and excursions/tours for people to do. We looked into Punta Cana as well, and while we liked the actual resorts and wedding venues, we felt like it had less to offer for guess. Resorts were cheaper there, but we felt like Mexico would offer a better time overall. We also ruled out Jamaica purely because I didn't like the look of the resorts there (haha) - that's what I mean by narrowing down what you want!

Your TA can also give you suggestions if you tell them what you're looking for.

Good luck and happy planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
