I love your planning thread, it's so detailed! I'm really interested in finding out what you do for your hair and makeup. We're staying at Riu Tequila but will be getting married off-site. I was hoping to get either Doranna or Beso Brides, but don't know if I can justify vendor fees. Doranna did offer that I could come to her house and Beso suggested that they could hire a budget hotel nearby so that I can come to them.

Did you get any information about the inhouse mua? I've read that if they don't offer airbrush the resort may waive the vendor fee, but the responses I got when I emailed them were just confusing!

Hi @@NotSoWitty, thanks for reading my looooong posts. I can't justify the vendor fees, but I think it is just easier on the day of to have the MUA in the hotel. We are planning to have door games, the ceremony and then tea ceremony so it is just easier if I do not have to find a taxi to take us (my mom, mom-in-law, BMs) somewhere else to get hair and makeup done. With the language barrier plus new to the area, I don't know if I want that kind of stress on the day of the wedding. Are you planning to have your photographer there to take photos? If you are getting married off-site, can you have your makeup done @ the off-site location?

I didn't get much info from inhouse MUA. I know some brides are happy with their work, but I am kind of skeptical. I haven't heard that they allow waiving vendor fee. Who did you contact in the resort?

I just emailed the front desk and got two different responses! I had read about some hotels in general waiving the fee, but not specifically any of the riu ones.   I'll email them again tomorrow when I have my thinking brain back on!

There's just the two of us going to Mexico and we're going to get married on the public beach with just the photographer and minister so there's nowhere else for me to get my makeup done. Oh well, I'll figure it out! I'm hoping we'll have time for a massage or something nice in the morning - the joy of not having to worry about anyone else! :D

That's wonderful! Nice and relaxing day for you two! Which beach are you looking to get married? The ones in PDC or further down in Tulum?

Probably PDC, this is something I'm hoping either our photographer or officiant can help us with. We've never been before and google maps street view can only show us so much!

I'm sure they will be able to help you out on that! When is your big day?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
