Melia Caribe 2015 Brides?

Recommended Posts

Hi There,

I just confirmed my wedding date for April 17, 2015 at the Melia Caribe Tropical resort. I am so excited. Are there any other brides getting married at the Melia Caribe in 2015? I have my date confirmed with the La Barcaza as well for the reception. I am hoping everything goes smoothly. I have my ceremony at 4pm then I have the boat at 6pm. Will this give us enough of time for pictures etc? SOOOOO excited.

oh no....eeeeeek. I have contacted the resort and now I am running into somewhat of an issue. someone help!!! I have originally contacted the resort on Friday April 4th and they told me that the 2pm and 4pm ceremony was available. I have since then been trying to get a hold of the resort, but with no luck. Then I was contacted today after I sent in my contract stating that I wanted the 4pm ceremony and they wrote me back saying all that is left for this day is 2pm because of the package I have chosen. My wedding is on April 17/2015. I was wanting the 4pm time for the ceremony because I am having the reception on the La Barcaza wedding boat and I didn't want my guests to be waiting all day for the reception. I really wanted this 4pm time. I have emailed the resort back to ask why is it because of the package I have chosen? is it because I have chosen the Melia Wedding package that all they have for this particular package is the 2pm time. I haven't heard back from them yet as I am assuming they are probably out of the office by now. Have anybody ever encountered this before and if I end up only having that 2pm time to chose then what will I do with my guests that will be waiting until 6pm for the reception on the La Barcaza?

HELP

well just heard back from the resort. that was quick. Apparently you can only have the 4pm time for the ceremony only if you purchase the Fairy Tale package. this is sad as I don't need everything that is included in this package and feel it would be a waste of money. Now I have to come up with extra money anyway to have some sort of a cocktail thing because my guests will be waiting until the time the ceremony is over until the boat is ready to leave which is at 6pm.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
