New Resort - Royalton Riviera Cancun

Recommended Posts

Let me know when you figure this out. I very much want a sky wedding. How many do you have on your guest list?

Still waiting on everyone to RSVP - but right now I'm thinking 25-30.

Hi everyone!! I just came across this forum and looked into the resort and WOW!!!! So in love! I haven't locked down the other resort I currently am looking into into for 2016 so this is climbing up.Would anyone have an idea of what they have as a nightly charge ? Looking into the info to see if im comfortable with the price for my guest. So far Im in love with the place!!

When I booked mine in January, I wound up getting a pretty great rate. This is all due to the fact I decided to go through a travel agent. Due to this being a new resort, the rates are all over the place right now. They are different every week. I would recommend contacting a travel agent and seeing what kind of rate you could get locked down for 2016.

I'm working with an awesome agent who is free to use, and got me prices that were way cheaper than anything I saw online (Expedia, Apple Vacations, etc.) PM me if you want his info!

The price per night depends on the type of room you're getting - but it was around $300 per night for my guests, based on double occupancy.

I just spoke with the WC and the wedding packages are awful.

They only include a semi-private reception (meaning you can't have music or make speeches)

If you want private function, every place has a location fee between $500-1500 PLUS the menu fee starting at $65/person. Even if you book the sky terrace for $1500 for the ceremony, you would need to pay an additional $1000 to have the reception there plus the cost of food, cocktail hour extra of course.

They charge you per location to have the private event ?? WHAT??! That's insane I thought it was just the per person amount... ughh making me really tthink this now. :(

Hi Racht33 I think they charge for the sky terrace and to erect a wooden structure on the beach. I got quoted $1500 for sky terrace (ceremony only ) and I think $350 for erecting of wooden structure on beach. I understood the chapel and beach gazebo were included....well no charges mentioned anyway!! Please recheck with WC xx

My Fi and I are having a quiet wedding so booked hideaway assuming we could have the sky terrace as shown in wedding literature. When we tried to book we were told $1500!!! For what??? Only 2 of us so minimal decor and we only have to walk upstairs?!! We are having the Chapel instead...I assume this is included as no charges discussed. Will get letter tomorrow to confirm.....fingers crossed X

I find the price menu a little bit confusing and a bit nausea inducing.  I straight up asked the Royalton wedding coordinator what I can get in a certain budget.  Let's see what they come up with.  I have second thoughts as well, but I want to try to make it work.  It helps that I'm not fussy.

That is insane...every resort in the area will atleast place a gaezbo on the beach at no extra cost. 350 for wooden sticks on the sand.. and most likely with no sheers included. I think this alone has steered me away from the location. There is so much competition in the area that is just would be insane to go with these prices. To think i steered away from Azul because the nightly rates weren't as good compared to Royalton. They atleast offer FREE events with certain amount rooms booked.

I agree @@JoannaBanana if she tells you anything differant please share with us. I currently have my TA speaking with 3 resorts with my set budget and im still waiting for him to get back to me to see what will work out best for the wedding and our guest. I'm Honestly trying not to get sad because I was truly getting attached to the idea of this place . but hey if it doesnt work out then it just doesnt.

What got me the most upset with this place was that they charge for the reception. Most places will include at least 20 people for free, this one doesn't include anyone and menus start at $65 plus cocktail hour and set up fee. The guests are already staying at the resort why would we need to pay so much for them?

This isn't terrible:

Love Package: $999 USD

Additional guests: $20 x 10 = $200 USD

Semi-Private dinner: included in package with a set menu

Private after party (8:00-11:00pm – based on availability):

                Sky Terrace: $1260 USD

                Open bar: $31.50 USD x 30 = $945 USD (3 hours)

                DJ: $315 USD x 3 hours = $945 USD

TOTAL: $4349.00 USD

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
