New Resort - Royalton Riviera Cancun

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Just a quick update on the subject of wedding locatons at RRC. I've been in touch with the WC at Royalton to try to finalise the costs/location details etc before sending over our deposit. We ideally wanted to get married on the roof of the Hideaway section which they currently advertise as a wedding location so booked a room in that area for a premium. We are now told that to have it here will cost an additional $1500! This has no added benefit as you still pay for your package cost. As it is just the 2 of us, there are no costs for anything we can think of! Seems a little steep to me so going for chapel location instead which seems overly large for 2 people but hey ho....

Not letting anything put a dampener on our day ????

So for all future RRC brides (and grooms) the included locations are Chapel, Beach Gazebo (no pictures anywhere for this) or Main beach but you then have to pay $350 for a structure to be put up.

With it being a new resort 'extras' costs are only just being finalised so be prepared for this xx

Help please!!

A few questions to anyone booked to marry here.

1. Do you know if you are allowed to use outside vendors? If so, how much? After looking at the recommended photographer they do not offer many photos unless you upgrade to one of the top packages.

2. Does anyone have costs on getting hair and makeup done here?

3. I am torn between a legal ceremony or symbolic. The extra cost is $750 plus package (not a lot ) but worried about the time you have to wait for certificate afterwards. What is everyone else doing?

Any help would be great xx

Hi Ladies!

I am brand new to the forum and am booked at Royalton for Feb 2016! I've never joined anything like this before :)

I'm booked with LUXE Destination Weddings and my wedding planner is taking care of everything for me so I am pretty confident everything will be great. It's a little pricier than I was hoping (we booked before pricing came out), but my planner has been there and it seems BEAUTIFUL!

Nice to meet you ladies!

Quick question - I asked Royalton whether we could have someone else come in to do hair/makeup and photos. She said it is $850 per vendor!! This seems very high but wondered if anyone else has had a quote? Other Royalton resorts (in other countries) charge $250-450 am I being totally ripped off?

Any help appreciated xx

 Hi,

I also receive the $850 per vendor quote. I was told if you bring the vendor as a guest for 3 nights they will waive the vendor charge.

I asked because I was interested in bringing our own photographer in.

Hope this helps.

Hey guys,

I am getting married in June 2015 (60-70 people) and realized it's definitely much easier to stay with inside vendors due to cost.

I am going to keep the DJ on site and hair/make up through the spa.

1. We have chosen to do the private reception vs. semi private (we do not have photos of these spots, please share if you do!)

2. We have chosen sky deck

3. We will be doing the Mexican experience

Please let me know if you find anyone that has already had their wedding there or if you can find extra photos or details of the day. It's hard for me to envision! Congrats to you guys!

Thanks for that! At least it wasn't just me. We've decided to stick with the on site photographer as I have a little more info and they actually look pretty good xx

Hi girls! Just wondering: should I be nervous that I haven't heard from the wedding planner yet and received any information? My wedding date is July 11th. When I reserved the day, they said someone would be contacting me to start planning a few months out. I realize that it's still a few months out, but it also seems to be approaching pretty fast to not have any idea of pricing, venues, etc. - except from what I'm finding out on here.

When did you guys hear from the wedding coordinator?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
