New Resort - Royalton Riviera Cancun

Recommended Posts

Has anyone received any information about wedding packages for this resort? It looks like it would be a perfect hotel for us but I am nervous to book without knowing the wedding packages.

We booked our wedding here for Sept 2015.  I emailed and was told that their wedding packages would be ready around Oct/Nov of this year.  I am somewhat nervous but I was sent the Punta Cana Royalton and the White Sands Royalton packages and they were similar to each other so I am hoping (and assuming) they will be similar to what will be offered at the Royalton Riviera Cancun.

Congrats!! Very exciting!! We are still finalizing our decision. Had you been looking at other hotels in Mexico? I just read on TripAdvisor that you can see the Royalton under construction on Google World. I checked. It's pretty cool!

Thank you you as well. When are you planning your wedding for? I did quite a bit of research on resorts in Mexico and I really liked the moon palace but it was slightly higher than what we wanted our guests to pay to stay the week so we kept looking. I have been keeping an eye on the prices of the royalton and although they don't have the rates for sept 2015 up yet on any of the sites I think that the rate pp that we got will be very good in comparison. I know my sister and brother in law went to the Royalton in Cuba only a couple of months after it opened and they said it was one of the nicest resorts they've ever been to so that helped to make my decision to book at a resort that isn't even open yet easier! Where else have you looked in Mexico?

I have been obsessing over the Royalton for the past few weeks. Originally we were looking at Jamaica but it's less expensive in Mexico and the resort looks like it will be amazing!!!! I was super excited and ready to book and then one of my friends who works on a cruise ship told me that the beach in the area isnt amazing. She was saying that the beach has a lot of seaweed and potentially rocks. I really wanted the beautiful turquoise water of the Caribbean. SOOO now I am second guessing my choice and thinking of going with a Riu Palace hotel but I find the number of RIU hotels overwhelming. I was looking at the Moon Palace today to see reviews of the beach, since it's next door, and the reviews of the hotel are amazing! The food looks incredible. All that said, the reviews of Royalton hotels are amazing. We are planning for the second week in August. I never thought that organizing a destination wedding would be so nerve-racking.

My agent was able to pull some pretty reasonable rates.  My attraction lies in that it will be a new facility.  Planning my wedding Oct 2015.  Can't wait to hear the reviews.

Congratulations! Were you about to get many photos or much information about the resort from your travel agent?  I have been searching around since we booked for more information or progress and haven't been able to find a lot.  I did find the facebook page of the architect building the resort and a couple of pictures of the progress but not much else.

I have not been able to find any photos.  I e-mailed back and forth with a Christine from the Royalton about wedding packages.  The packages won't be advertised until November/December.  She was able to tell me if my date was available and the price to reserve it.  I copied a bit of the e-mail and pasted it below:

"Thank you for your email and interest in Royalton Riviera Cancun!  Unfortunately at this time we do not have any wedding details available. With this being said, we do ask for your patience as we work on finalizing all the wedding details over the next few months. We will have these sent to you as soon as possible, but realistically, this will be around the end of November/December 2014.

We are however accepting wedding bookings currently as the hotel is still subject to open in January 2015. We would not start the wedding planning until after the time the wedding details are all available. As soon as we have the finalized wedding packages and their pricing, I will send this to you."

My fiancé and I have decided to get married at this resort in January 2015. They have already sent information on their wedding packages and they confirmed that the resort is opening on December 17, 2014. Wedding details have not yet been confirmed, but I will be sure to post my experiences as we go through the process.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
