Gettin the Groom a bit more interested

Ok so i have a long way to go myself in getting ivovled but, personally one reason Heidi is at the Helm is because she is just great at planning things and getting things together, (as many of you may know), so I let her have at it.

That being said,

I was talkin to a buddy of mine whom got married last year, and told me to remember that It was a day for me too, and It will be as fun as you make it....Marrying Heidi +my friends and family + Jamaica = Best week of my life.

Great piece of advice for any Future brides wanting their men to get more involved, point out the things that may appeal to them the most of That special day, (other than the obvious marrying their Loves)

Me personally one way Heidi really got me interested is by feeding my vanity....Robin DePaula is our photographer and Heidi showed me a slidshow of her "sexy beach shots". These got me thinking of how awesome we can look with these shots. That lead to me wanting to look good, buy picking the right things to wear, thinking of locations etc etc. Now shes got me on this forum....wow...shes good.

She is good...haha! No matter what I do, I can't seem to get Mike involved. Which is probably good because his input may not be want I want to hear! But, it does get annoying that he has no clue what he or the groomsmen are wearing. I think as the date gets closer, he'll get more psyched, but right now it just seems so far away to him. The good thing is whenever I tell him about things I've chosen, he just says "sounds good!". But thanks for your suggestions, Reggie!

Yea lord knows that I am the King of "Ok whatevers" or "sure whatever you wants" About the only thing i have done really is Pick Jamaica, for the place and put stamps on some envelopes....

But if the Future groom has somthin to say hear him out...Even if it is ridiculous. I really thought about getting the groomsmen into pink speedos, cuz it woulda been really memorable. But it was clearly vetoed...

Oh and HEIDI (my love who is sitting right next to me) I have seriously thought about what I am goin to wear other than a banana hammock. I thought about wearing a nice white short sleeve polo..but its a no. smile105.gif

The pink speedos would look great (totally kidding, Heidi!). My FI wanted to wear tux t-shirts, he was totally serious, but obviously I vetoed that.

that's great!!!! That works for most things actually...but I find it's only a quick fix. But that is all that is needed sometimes!

Reggie, thanks for the advice...

Lizz...Brad is the same way...He is interested in the location and alcohol only and the location is picked out now and we don't need to think about alcohol yet..so he is totally uninvolved! i told him the other night that my ticker said exactly 7 months until our wedding, thinking that wasn't that long and he says oh...that's such a long ways away! Whatever! That's because you don't feel like you have a million things to do still! :)

I'm gonna be honest all I really wanted was a yes man! Uh huh I said it just agree with what I want, but damn it agree like my ideas are the most interesting spectacular ideas ever thought of!!! Poor Everton I gave him such a hard time about his clothes, so he rushes out comes home with a outfit, and what do I do? March him right back to the store to return it all, and then pick out what I thought he should wear, rofl.gifrofl.gif

Everton did however plan the most romantic dinner I have ever had. He planned it the day after our wedding in a gazebo on the beach, candles wine and the best salmon I have ever eaten. It was complete with moonlight, the ocean, and dancing to the trio that played at our wedding. It was beautiful, romantic, and month's of secret planning went into it. I have to say this was a way better use of his time then his input on hair flowers, or no hair flowers!

I do think it is great Reggie that you want to get more involved, happy planning, and for the record I think the pink speedo's would be perfect rofl.gif

I have to tell you that the #1 reason Mike picked the RIU was because of the liquor dispensers in the rooms and the 24 hour drinking/eating perk!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
