wow seriously??!? How did you get this done??? This way under the 800 they are charging everyone else. Was this all worked out through your planner?

Hello!! Yes I did!! I paid $150 for photographers, $100 for the DJ and my wedding planner arranged not paying for her even though they also brought the flowers.

I must admit something right now.. cause i honestly don't want to go running to my FI about it because it will really cause more stress on us both. But Ive honestly stalked Tripadvsior on reviews almost every day if i can remember to do so ( im always worried ) and the last 3 days things have been so bad. I know some people are really picky or over dramatic. and I know I have more than a year to go to actually have the wedding there. but the reviews on the bad service, the bad food , and people getting really sick. AHHHHH what is going on!!?? Reviews have even stated how they are charging people extra cost for ordering steak or asking for a top shelf gin at the gin bar. Wasn't this place all inclusive? Anyone know is there is a list of additional charges on food and drinks? I would hate to advertise the resort as all inclusive to my guest and when we actually attend its not! I'm hoping they can start changing this over. I'm even afraid to mention to guest yet what resort we selected because i don't want them jumping onto the site and reading these things. I'm praying stuff starts to change a bit before i send out my STDs. :(

It seems as though bad reviews kind of come in waves. I saw that a bunch of people got sick and hopefully they resolve that soon. I would definitely ask your TA about the extra charges or even your WC. trust me, sometimes I do wish we'd gone with another hotel but it's hard to say because chances are that there would have been other issues.

Sometimes my guess is that they have a bad week or if they're really busy the service goes down, which you would expect in any place when they get busy. With the food thing, it might be a break out of something. I think it can happen anywhere. I went out locally a few weeks ago and I have no idea what happened but I was sick for a week. I felt as though a truck had run me over. Sometimes one person will start (who might have gotten sick out of the resort as far as we know) and at the end of the day, you're basically stuck with this bunch of people in one place so it's more likely for the virus or bacteria to get around. I really don't think it's the hotel's fault and I'm sure they're trying to fix it as this is a big deal for them.

I get that the first instinct is to freak out because I do it too but I think we'll be ok :)

@@racht33 I agree with @@TinkerSofi and judging by all of the brides who have recently returned and their glowing reviews I think we'll be ok. I also read somewhere that a TA heard people getting sick the same week at other resorts too - I think it must be something going around the area.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
