Hi @@TinkerSofi, interesting you said that, In dealing with pricing, Azul fives was always cheaper for me because its not right on the beach exactly. And I agree with you with fives being closed to Playa. also, I liked that it was a smaller resort and I wouldnt have to walk ten miles to get to someone's room.

On a totally random side note, on the day of the wedding? How does everyone find each other???? I mean, its not like all our cell phones work?

I'd say you probably have a meeting place. We're all creatures of habit and tend to go to the same places haha so if you want to meet people at the beach, chances are everyone is sitting at the same spot as they were the day before or close by. I personally like small resorts, especially with the whole finding people thing. Chances are you will always be running into one another. I guess the beach is kind of far from the rooms so i'd have to make sure that I bring everything with me when I leave the room but with all the eating that goes on at all inclusives I will definitely need the walk.

Hi there,

I am looking to get married at the Azul Fives in early 2016 (early.. I know) but I want all of my family and friends who want to come to be able to afford it. I really had my heart set on the Azul Beach hotel but it is just too expensive for me. I wasn't willing to go to up to $2000 a week for all inclusive for my guests.

Did anyone have trouble picking a place? I just don't want to be asking people to spend their life savings. It is a year and a half away, I would hope that people who really wanted to come would be able to save that much by then.

Did you have trouble getting a group rate? Everywhere I look I am getting the same price - from my travel agent as well. I thought that we would at least get $100 off a package or so.

Is anyone having second thoughts on this place? How is it to coordinate with the resort? I really want to be able to stay up late and party but it doesn't look like that will be a possibility passed 12. Is that correct? Is it safe to go to Playa to the bars?

@@Smellsey,

I had done a TON of research before I picked azul fives. Azul beach is definitely the most expensive of the three azuls. Sensatori is the middle but the bigger resort and fives is the cheapest mainly in part because they are set back a little farther from the ocean. That being said, I went through 7 travel agents before I settled on one and here's what I learned. You won't get much of a discount on rates at all. All those stories you will hear from family and friends on how so and so went to mexico and it cost them this much is because they were able to get flight and hotel together on something like orbitz. Well that works when it's just two peoe comjng to mexico, not a wedding party.

That being said, azul fives is a good price for a fabulous resort. Also, pricing highly depends on what time if the year you want to get married. We really wanted to do jan or feb but moved to may after spring break solely for pricing. Hope this helps!

For what it's worth- I have package pricing for my February 2016 wedding at Azul Sensatori and am a month into our 90 day contract... So your TA should be able to lock in your pricing for you this early! Karisma/Tour Operator were able to do so!

My fiancé's sister got married in Antigua in 2011 and she got $200 off each package based on the amount of people they had. I have heard that from a lot of people. Does that not exist?

I am trying to look into April as well for a date but it looks like Transat (which is the only company that flies from WPG to Cancun) only flies there from December to April 1st - so my options are limited. I also want to stay away from Spring Break and reading week.

@@kmk2016 - Did you get a better price that you got when looking online? Are you flying with Transat?

@@Lilgabri03 - Do you mind if I ask how many guests you will be having?

My pricing is better than what I can see online, but prices aren't online yet for 2016- so I'm just looking at pricing as if my wedding were in 2015 and I'm happy with my quote. Im travelling with Sunwing/Signature, but your TA can give you all the options. I'm surprised that Air Transat is the only company that flight direct to Cancun! I was sure sunwing and air canada vacations did... And in fact I thought WJ vacations did to!

I did a lot of research on resorts and Azul Fives was one of the cheapest I could find. My rate is $489/person for 3 nights all inclusive. I'm having 110 guests so I qualified for the unlimited events. So I'm doing the welcome cocktail party and the rehearsal dinner at no additional cost, which is great. They also waived the sky deck fee for me since I have so many people coming. But I think their room rates are pretty good, especially when I compared to other hotels. Good luck!

Ya with Azul Fives - you can only purchase packages with Transat. Air Canada, Sunwing and West Jet do not have a contract with that resort. Only the Azul Beach Resort. At least from Winnipeg anyways.. perhaps other provinces work

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
