@@valmarie99 thank you so much! I loved all of it. You can email my photographer/videographer at mrderekcampbell@@gmail.com. All my decorations were from Katy with Love and Lace decorations. You can find her on Facebook. I got the flowers from the hotel though. If you aren't on the Azul Fives Brides Facebook page yet, I highly suggest joining that. Almost everyone on it is using Katy. She rocks. Feel free to email me if you have any questions - khmciver@@gmail.com. Happy wedding planning to you!!!

@@Lilgabri03 How were the set up fees once you got there? Did they charge you something crazy or were they reasonable?

So I paid a little in set up fees beforehand but I brought extra stuff with me and they didn't charge me a dime. The onsite wedding coordinators are just much more flexible than lomas

thanks! I'm trying to negotiate the set up fee before we leave because I don't want surprises but I haven't heard back from my WC in 3 weeks :(. I called last week and apparently they had trouble with thier e-mail on the day I sent them mine so I had to resend it last week. Crossing fingers! :D I don't think we have a lot to set up, just some stuff on tables, so hopefully it won't be too much.

Okay so I set a date, oct 7th 2016. I am working with a GI certified agent, and so far we have about 40 rooms we will be looking at getting a quote on... Just in case, what all should I be looking to get "for free" with all of these rooms? I would love to have my reception on the sky deck, but refuse to pay $1700 since the pool/beach is just as beautiful, but I'm willing to negotiate with all that I've got! Any tips or tricks would be awesome! Thank you all!

Congrats and welcome to the club!! We got the memorable moments package for the reception tables and updated the ceremony to the sky deck so they were nice enough to waive the ceremony fee for us. That's something you could negotiate if you want one of the memorable moment packages :). I know it doesn't sound like much in the grand scheme of things, but there's a lot of extra stuff you can do for $950!

everything else I've tried to negotiate I haven't had much luck with, but I also heard the people over at the resort are more reasonable than the ones in Miami and more flexible in terms of negotiating. Make sure you ask about your free perk for booking with a GIC TA! My WC hadn't mentioned anything until I told her that I wanted the free spa package for booking with a GIC TA and then she said "Ok, thanks for letting me know" haha. Don't wait for them to tell you about the perks you can get ;)

Ladies, just curious did you do the majority of your negotiating with the travel agent or wedding coordinator? I've got about 50 rooms on this resort and want to negotiate as much as possible, mostly the vendor fees :/ looking at a dj and photog not on the list. Thanks in advance

I'd get the TA on it. She has been able to get me better deals

HI ladies I am just getting started planning for 2016 and I am about to go visit Azul fives this June! Just wanted to know how your weddings went and if you were satisfied? I am very excited about the Sky deck as well:)

Congrats on getting your date! now the fun begins :). My wedding hasn't happened yet but from all the ladies before they were all really satisfied with how things came together. There's always the odd bride here and there who was disappointed but I think that's bound to happen anywhere.

You're lucky that you get to visit the hotel first! I think it will make planning a lot easier :)

It was the perfect day with the perfect company! I absolutely recommend my photographers! They are really amazing artists and lovely persons to work with. Really professional, punctual, and also respectful!

The blog of my photos is on their webpage, so feel free to share your comments with us!

In a few days I'll be uploading my honeymoon pictures, so if you don't have any idea where to go, maybe you can get one from my trip!

@@andreaberretta I guess you are not using karisma or Lomas and that is why you where able to negotiate the vendor fee. You are working directly with you wedding coordinator?

Hello!!! I think I got lucky, I was working with a wedding coordinator at the Azul Fives, but he went away to another job, so the new coordinators didn't know what we had negotiate or not, so we kind of took advantage of the situation, but everything we said was totally true!

Actually I am really disappointed on the hotel's organization and logistics, but in the end everything went great and everything was absolutely perfect!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
