I'm officially a June 2016 bride! I booked the Sky deck for 5:30 pm but I'm thinking I should move it up to 5pm. I really hate that the always and forever package isn't free any more. I don't know how I feel about paying $1800 for sky deck and $950 for the wedding package...

SN: I'm waiting on approval from the FB group, I wanna see more photos

Hi Ladies! Ok, I am back and it has been a crazy whirlwind of events.I honestly don't even know where to begin, so I will just start. I will also be posting a different review on trip advisor but I wanted to post here first. We actually greeted all our guests personally with welcome bags in the lobby which our guests were really surprised and excited. We had about 60 people total at our wedding which included 9 children and 3 babies. The rest were adults. Almost everyone staying in block 15 and 16 got upgraded to one bedroom suites which was awesome but at the same time I wish they would have asked me who I would have preferred the upgrade go to because there are certain immediate family members I would have preferred the upgrade to go to versus a random friend. The lobby is the only place that seems to be disorganized. Check in was fine but there were some room requests that weren't met which was annoying also I really wanted certain people to be near each other but they really couldn't accommodate. But whatever it was fine. Check out was a mess since I had paid for bridesmaids to get their hair done prior to check out and of course they were all charged for it. After about an hour it got sorted out. (Check the bill when you check out)
By the way, we didnt have a SINGLE person get sick more than a quick upset tummy. Maybe because I emailed my guests ahead of time warning them not to drink the water which includes brushing their teeth but literally no one got sick. So I have no idea what is happening with those other reviews.
We had our ceremony and reception on the sky deck and I don't care that I had to pay $1700 I would have paid more that's how happy I was with that location. Cocktail hour was a deck below on sky terrace. Everything was amazing, I met with the coordinators the day after we arrived and came armed with spreadsheets and presentations and all of my stuff. The WC's on site are MUCH more flexible than Lomas and Miami once you get there. They really try to help you as much as they can.
I don't even know how to explain this, but you guys know how crazy I am with organization, reading, and planning but once you get there everything just falls into place. It's just what happens. The other brides are right, it just falls into place.

Please feel free to ask for certain pictures of stuff and ask questions!

OMG, your photos and video are AMAZING!!!!! How can I go about using the same vendors as you?? We just set our date, October 7th, 2016 so I have some time, but everything you did looks so great and seems to have cost you much less than what is on site. If you could give me any tips you might have I would appreciate it! Right now we are doing wedding on the beach (my forever dream) and looking at the sky deck for the reception, althought with about 85 guests right now, i might be changing my mind on that one.

Thank you so much for sharing all of the great information,

Valerie

I booked Photos in Cancun (www.photosincancun.com). They are really responsive and speak great english which makes me feel better. They're $2500 for 2 photographers + an assistant. They also give me a flash drive with all of the pictures after the event which is awesome. I've heard a lot of photographers take forever to send you your pictures. They also allow free access to all pictures so anyone can print them, share them on social media, whatever. They've been really nice and they discounted their fee to $2100 so I only have to pay $400 of the outside vendor fee. They added 3 hours of photography for the rehearsal dinner as well which is awesome. I'm just getting a day pass for that and he just happens to have a camera handy. Haha. Their package is usually 8 hours of photography day of wedding, but he also upped it to 10 hours for me at no additional cost. I highly recommend him. I read a lot of reviews online about him and they were all awesome. I literally couldn't find one bad review.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
