no i'm not. I thought about it but then I wondered if it's really worth it. I guess I haven't decided yet. I know Juan will tell me no. Maybe I can ask for part of it as my birthday present! haha he can't get around that one ;)

@@TinkerSofi my FI was like "are you kidding me? Only four hours? Get them to extend it until as late as we can". My TA took care of it...its on my wedding builder and we have the sky deck until 1AM BUT I haven't told my FI how much it is yet. It's costung more than the rental of the sky deck. I have a feeling i may have to ask for that as a birthday present too lol

@@TinkerSofi according to my website builder it's $15/pp. My TA is following up because when we asked the WC she said "yes, we can give you until 1AM" and never mentioned the cost.

ohh ok, just out of curiosity, until what time does your regular reception go and then how much are you paying extra? How are you working that out with the DJ/amplifier?

@@TinkerSofi sorry $15/pp/hour.

We asked if we could extend it and they just did it. Other than making our deposits and sending the STDs we have done zero planning. I haven't worked any of he logistics out yet.

I think we're booked for ceremony at 4:30, cocktails 5-6:30, ceremony 6:30-10:30 + extending until 1AM.

I'd love to extend ours until 1. having a shorter wedding was the biggest compromise for me to make a DW but it seemed no hotels really had the option to have it until late!

Yeah, Juan wants to go to a club in downtown after but our reception will end at 11 so far, by the time we change, get everyone in cabs, meet up downtown and then get into a club it will be around 12:30. I just don't think it's worth it.

Ya I am not sure either! 11 may be more reasonable than 12 lol! but.. besides you - people may not even want to change. Depending on what they are wearing. You could play by ear. I don't think pay $900 an hour for alcohol is worth it to me but I think I am going to just bit the bullet. Let's just say - I will get all of the guests still there drinking lol

yeah I know that my fiance and I will want to change for sure if we do that but I don't know about everyone else. I just think that by the time we get to downtown and into a club we might have lost the wedding party mood haha.

I was thinking of extending it until 12 but right now all the big expenses are due so I don't know if that's gonna happen. It really wouldn't be so much for us for just an hour. I don't think we could pay until 1 though so we might have to move the party to the hotel club.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
