@@TinkerSofi yea 30% it pretty terrible when they make the call hours before during the initial set up.

Does anyone know what that giant table is actually for at the grill? I've never seen it but just heard stories about it.

Yeah we do get nickel and dimed. Well if that happens to us (knock on wood), I'll definitely try and negotiate to get at least 50%. Everything is negotiable in Mexico haha.

For those who are struggling with the play list my WC sent me this list of songs for the ceremony. We'll be entering to different songs but I'm just checking the rest of them out. I loled when I saw Air on the G string lol. I know it's a famous classic song but I couldn't help hahha

on second thought I don't know about some of these songs haha. I'll probably take it as a start and fill in with my own songs :P. Some of the classical songs are beautiful songs but they're kind of sad for a wedding, or that's the impression I get at least.

My lord that's gorgeous! What a beautiful setting for a wedding!

Thanks! I have definitely learned my lesson the hard way. Do you know where I could find more information on the Oriolla Grill? I'm definitely open to options at this point but don't see much info at this location.

I'm sorry you're getting stuck like this. I went through something I didn't like with the resort. I booked what I thought was the Pier for just 6 to 10 of us. The system let me book it and I thought everything was good. It took two weeks before I had an answer back. The Pier wasn't available and the system had stuck us in the garden at 2:30 in the afternoon. Nope. They told me we could go to Azul Beach instead but I wanted Fives. I tried every which way from Sunday to sort out something. Thought we had the Zky Terrace at the time we wanted. Nope. Had to wait until 5:30. Ok we could do pictures first so we don't lose the light. Nope again. Two other weddings going on that had the Sky Deck, the Zky Terrace and then the Pier. We couldn't even get the nice spots for pictures so I just said thanks but no thanks. It was ok though. We got an off resort spot that is gorgeous, it's not our wedding - we're renewing our vows, and we're going to dinner right in Playa del Carmen at a rooftop restaurant. I'm totally happy with what we've got booked. I used someone that is on this site - Joyce from Dream Weddings and I think she's super. But now I just found out that the deluxe rooms are only 2 double beds. I've emailed the resort to see what they say about it as one of the ladies here said there are deluxe rooms with king beds. Keeping fingers crossed!!

Well I'm looking for a pat on the back tonight girls. I made it!!! 64 hours this week!!! 3 nights working until nearly midnight, having supper at 1 am and crawling into bed at 2 lol only to turn around and get up at 6 and do it again!  And what's totally sweet..... I made my deadline with a whole 12 minutes to spare!!!

@@TinkerSofi sorry I didn't get back to you. That picture was actually taken at 5:30AM. When I asked if she thought we would need extra lighting up there in the evening she said "yes I saw lighting in the evening". I still have to clarify.

Yay! I had a week from hell too. Not because the hours were that long, although I did have to stay late every day, but because I got a bunch of difficult clients and things just went wrong. Let's just say I'm glad it's the weekend!

Let me know what you hear about  the deluxe rooms with king beds. I think my TA said there weren't any but I'm not sure and I want to know what you hear :)

Cool! Yeah I think they do have lights. I'm guessing it's enough since they don't allow you to put string lights up there (they don't have the infrastructure apparently). I'm excited to see what it looks like with uplighting too to get the party started :D

It depends what time of the year you go. August is low season so transat makes one trip a week only, which means you need to stay either 7 or 14 days . Or you can void your trip back and then stay another few days and take a flight with another airline. However with that. you're not only missing on what you paid in your package for your flight back, but also you need to pay the room and flight separately for those extra days.

They go twice a week in October, which is why we might have the option to go 8 days. The flights are both saturday and sunday. If I could just get an answer about the beds we could get it figured out. The prices have come down too so we could get something nice for a good price. But it's our friends I'm worried about. I'm really hoping I get an answer to the email soon. Otherwise I'm going back to travel agent and tell him to contact them.

What if you give them a call? They're very responsive that way and I think you might get a quicker answer that way ;)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
