Hi! I'm planning a wedding for 2016, but haven't chosen a resort yet. I was thinking Beach Palace in Cancun, but now I've heard great things about Azul Fives! Does anyone know if the beach is nice/water pretty for a beach wedding? Also, I read on this blog that someone thought reception dinner pricing was increasing to $89, did anyone have that experience? I'm expecting 100-120 guests. Are there any perks such as free cocktail receptions, etc?Any info is appreciated!!

We visited beach palace and it is a gorgeous resort but the prices for trips were lower at AF So that's why we booked here. Where did you hear that prices are going up? What kind of menu were you looking at?

I suggest you visit their website and look at their banquet kit. I'll post a link when I'm on my computer.

If you live in the US there's tons of perks for you like free events, etc. if you're from anywhere else the perks are more limited :(

@@calgarybride2015 @@TinkerSofi I emailed Andrea back asking if mine would be pushed to 14pp. I am assuming she will say no but it is worth a shot. I agree though - I have 2 10 years and I know they will drink pop lol! Plus I have 4 recovering alcoholics that won't be drinking either but I understand that you would have to pay for adults. I think we are going to do the ceremony at 3.. cocktails at 5 and then the dinner at 7-11 and then do one hour of the bar until midnight and then go elsewhere.

Hopefully they budge! I'm over it now with it being 4 hours. I confronted them and also told them that other brides were quoted different prices and they still didn't budge. Makes a bit angry that they're so unfair but what can I do being so far away? My mission is to take over the sky lounge like it was my private reception Hahah. I honestly don't know if I'll make it past 2am anyway

Thanks for the info! Is the beach at Azul Fives pretty for a beach ceremony? If you don't mind posting that banquet kit when you have a chance, that would be great! I'm glad to hear that Azul Fives was a more reasonable price  than Beach Palace. We are looking for something a little less expensive for our guests!

@@Danielle1 these are the current prices for the food.

Prices do usually go up every year, at any resort. So if you're 100% decided on the hotel you want I would try to book, regardless of how early it might be. Then you lock in those prices ;)

Hi! I am getting married at Azul Fives in August of 2015. I noticed some of you have already been married there and I was hoping to get some recommendations on a good place to have a reception. ie. beach, garden, sky deck??

we're having our ceremony and reception at the sky deck, but I also really like the garden for a reception or the Oriolla grill actually looks really nice when dressed up too :)

We weren't big fans of being on the sand for our events but I know that's a lot of people's dream, that's the only reason we didn't choose the beach.

I feel like i need to vent here...so i am 2 months away from my wedding and i am told that except photographer and videographer, there's no other outside vendor allowed in the resort. what a BS. They are charging us all an arm and a leg and we are very limited with options. I want my friend to dj for us that night but when he saw the equipment that Lomas rents out, he said these are way outdated, even the pioneer sound system that's rented for $2K. it's ridiculous, isn't it? anyways, after talking to Karisma, they are saying it is what it is and you can't bring other equipment to the resort. Has any of you ladies had a different experience?

Yeah I'm not very happy about this situation either. We don't have enough money for a dj and none of our friends are djs but I'm a bit fed up with their monopoly on everything. It's not even a good monopoly! They charge a lot for subpar products. I'm definitely going to give them a piece of my mind after it's all said and done.

We are booked for the sky terrace wedding in April and make our final payment next week - ouch. We toured Azul a Fives a year ago and all their wedding spaces are great and agree that the sky deck - one level below would be perfect for the cocktail hour. We have the dinner and band on the beach in the evening as I wanted to dance in the sand. Good luck with all the fun planning!!

When you booked the sky terrace for your wedding, did you have to pay the $950 for the always and forever ceremony plus the $1700 for the sky terrace? I reserved my wedding spot today and it looked like I had to pay for both in order to reserve the terrace. Also, has anyone had a wedding on the beach? I'm just not sure I want to pay for both!

The $950 will show on your charges but in our contract if we had 10 rooms paid in full the $950 was waived . The beach area is nice for the wedding but not private at all and right next to the busy pool areas and beach. You will have a crowd of onlookers in bathing suits watching you as you walk down the area.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
