Can you tell me what you were able to find out? What website did you use and was there photos? We're having our renewal ceremony there but that's as much as I know right now. I've sent an email but waiting for the reply. That will probably be a few days.

What is your date?

@acw271011- I saw the styling trio website and it looks great. Mac are very nice products :) Are you paying a vendor fee to have them come to you or are you going to them ?

We're going to them. Being in Playa they're close enough not to worry about paying the fee twice. I booked already with Styling Trio. we just have to confirm the time and then she said we'll do a Skype conversation about 3 weeks before we go. I'm going all out and doing the trial with them too the day before. I'm going to pick up flowers at the same time on the day of. We only have 2 bouquets so again not paying the fee. I got bouts from tygrlily for the guys so that's already done and we're going off resort for dinner so center pieces will be done by our planner. like I said we're only about 8 or so. And this is something special for our anniversary. we're already married so this is very low key and not formal in any way.

Will they allow you to bring outside bouquets?

I think it's a good idea to o outside and get hair and makeup done. I would do the same but there will be so much going on that day that I have a feeling I would to insane haha

From what I've read its fine. I'm not asking them to do any setup, nobody has to deliver them. For all they know I went to a store and bought them. We do have to pay the fee for our photographer and there isn't anything we can do about that. We booked Samuel Luna - another thing off the list. I love his pics.

Why couldn't you go to Styling Trio? How many are you? It can't be that difficult. They already know that they fee AF charges is outrageous. Worth looking into.

There's 6 of us between bridesmaids and myself plus my mom.

I'll look into it. A lot of it has to do with the perks I get by booking through a GI certified TA. I get free makeup and hair at the resort and the trials, so if that pans out there's no point in me going out of the resort but if it doesn't I have to start shopping around.

Oh you're lucky! We won't get anything like that. We don't have enough people. Our agent is GI certified but there are only 6 out of Toronto. The others if they go are out of the UK. That's it at the moment but I doubt we'll add any more than that.

I'm just happy we finally get to celebrate an anniversary so I'm not going to complain! lol

I got email back from AF today. My designer is Ashley and she sent me pictures of the Zky Terrace so it gives me a bit of an idea of what it looks like. They said we can still do a private dinner if we want as long as we pay for the minimum people, which for a few of them is 16 so I might look into that. She didn't say - do you have to do it on your actual day? I know we can keep the semi-private dinner for another night which I'm going to do but we're doing a dinner after our renewal in Playa del Carmen. The restaurant is already reserved.

Oh that could totally be an option! You could do dinner at the pier :). I wouldn't know whether you had to do it on the same day. I don't see why though. Other hotels have a rule that says that your reception has to be right after the ceremony or they charge you but I don't think that's the case with Karisma. It would be the same as having a private event, like the one that a lot of the US brides have for free. They choose any date they want but can't choose the venue until they get there because it's free but you should be able to because you're paying for it

I'm waiting to hear back from my GI certified TA about the perks I'm eligible for. So far we are a small group of 17 with only 10 rooms booked . I hear the perks are based on the number of room you have booked. I hope I will at least get something.

Have you found out anything regarding your perks yet? How /when will you know if the make up perk pans out?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
