I'm assuming you know what resort since you are posting in the forum for the resort- but sky decks are at azul sensatori and azul fives... And one is being built at generations riviera maya. These are all karisma properties and use the same planning process/WC team etc.... There are other hotels in Mexico that also have elevated decks but the Karisma ones are all very similar in what is included etc.

Good luck and happy planning!

Congratulations and welcome to our lovely forum!! The resort is Azul Fives in Playa del Carmen. The sky deck is really cool. They do charge a $1700 fee to use it, but I got them to waive it so maybe they'll waive it for you. My photographer is Photos in Cancun. www.photosincancun.com. The photographer is Derek Campbell and he's been great. I'm use the make-up person at the resort. The best make-up artist that I've read about is Flor.

haha, yup, I didnt even clue in until I looked at the left corner to see it shows what resort it will be at, but thanks so much !

Can anyone a lso let me know of good djs , hair stylist , make up artists as well! Thanks :)

One tip I would give is to decide your budget and then look at what approved vendors are available to you at the resort you are interested in and start there. If you can find an approved vendor that you like, it's the best way to go when trying to be conscious of your budget since if you decide not to use ones supplied/approved by your resort you must pay an outside vendor fee (or a room stay minimum as a guest for the vendor). karisma has an $800 fee per vendor, for using anyone that isn't approved. So that can add up quick!

I think all of the azul resorts have a sky deck. I'm sure about azul fives and azul sensatori but I don't know about azul beach. It was one of the reasons we booked with them haha. There is a surcharge to have your wedding there ($1700 for the ceremony and $15pp extra on top of the food to have the reception there too). You do get some perks with the $1700 such as a welcome cocktail when guests arrive, programs, live online streaming for those who couldn't make it, among other things.

The prices for wedding at the karisma hotels vary depending on what you want to have. You can go really cheap or super expensive. You can start with their complimentary package and then add on things a la carte like flowers, upgrade the chairs, decorations, etc. or you can bring decorations from home. you can also get one of their pre-made packages for the ceremony and that costs another almost $3000 (this is on top of the $1700 for the sky deck btw)

For reception it's all on a per person basis and it depends on what menu you choose. I know the prices have changed since we booked so I couldn't give you exact numbers. With what you pay it includes the food and open bar for 4hrs. You also get a basic white set up for the tables so you can again bring stuff from home or choose from their already made packages or add on things a la carte.

I hope that helps but let us know if you have questions! We're more than happy to help :)

My first wedding coordinator in Miami was awful. She took weeks to respond. So then I requested a new one. She was better, but she still took about a week to respond. Some people are really patient, but considering what we're spending on our weddings, I thought it was a bit ridiculous to wait a week. And half the time, she rarely answered my questions. So my travel agent/wedding coordinator got me a new coordinator who has been absolutely amazing. She responds that same day. She's not actually with Karisma though. She's with Lomas, who does all the decorations, etc., but she only works with Azul Fives so she's been taking care of my detail sheet, etc. She even told me where my free private events were going to take place, which is awesome because they're not supposed to tell you until you get there. She rocks. I've heard that the wedding coordinators in Miami are better now because they have a new system in place, or something like that... If you don't like yours, you can always request a new one.

Thank you, @khmciver, this is good to know! I am really not the most patient person and I was wondering how long I should wait before I send up a follow up e-mail. For a few things I have used the "Live Chat" on the Karisma website and they respond quickly. Who is your wedding coordinator? Mine is Brigette Castro right now.

They should no longer be working as a single wedding coordinator. They are now a team. Brigette normally replies to me working a few hours.... Or someone else from the team... But since the change I have never waited longer than 24hrs for a reply and clear answers to my questions or corrections. You should also have full visibility of your detail sheet online. You simply need to ask for your password and log in info... It's helpful to ensure your updates are correct.

Make sure you ask your questions is bullet form so they are easily replied to and ensure you use your master email that links your queries (don't change the subject line)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
