I know. We went with the vintage elegance package. I still think $250 is way too much for what they give you but I just don't want to deal with carrying everything over there. We're making our own centerpieces. We're putting a lantern, a little silver candle holder with 3 fake flowers and some of those glass gems scattered around.

What's your e-mail? I can send you the list that our WC sent us for liquor. I was worried because my parents are big wine drinkers and they seemed to offer everything under the sun except for wine (i thought it was extra). It turns out they do offer some that is already included in the price :)

Another question for everyone, if you do a private reception by the pool, do you still pay the surcharge per person like you do at the terrace?

Hi Sofi, thanks for replying!!, my email is elizabeth.lyness11@@gmail.com.

I also have another question, does any one know how many seated people the sky deck can hold? I would like to have our reception in this area, but I'm not sure if it can hold 80-100 seated? does any one know? cheers :)

I'll also send you the chart that my WC sent me. The capacity for the reception at the sky deck depends on whether you're also having your ceremony there. They set up everything all at once so they're basically dividing the place for ceremony and reception. If you're having both things separately then it can hold that many people I think.

@@andreaberretta great info! I look forward to know what you find out. Our reception will be running to the max allowed at 11:00 pm so we need to find another venue to continue partying haha.

Does anyone know if we get refunded the $1700 if our wedding can't be held at the terrace due to rain? It would be double sad if we're not refunded, let alone unfair.

@ i'm having my reception at the sky terrace and they do seem to have really good lighting. We're not renting anything else but probably bringing some string lights to add ambience, not really for providing more light. I'm not sure how it works with the other locations

Hey sofi !! I'm sorry I've been too busy and haven't been updated with this page. I really don't know about the refund, but what I do know is this, my wedding will also be in the terrace and if it rains, they'll just take us to the Salon which is really big and of course closed!

I studied many options for what you mentioned about the allowed hours, and we made a deal so that we could have a longer party, so this is what my wedding will be.

At 5:30pm we'll have the legal ceremony in the terrace.

At 6:30pm we'll have the christian ceremony in the terrace.

(here's the catch) At 7:30 we'll have a cocktail party, which lasts for 2 hours, and you just have to choose from a menu 5 appetizers to give, so it's $13.00 dlls per person but is cheaper than an extra hour and also it gives you the opportunity to move the actual reception until 9:30, so your party ends at 1:30am.

I got an extra hour called Tornaboda and they serve chilaquiles to the guest for $16.00dlls each, and the extra hour.

So my party will end at 2:30am.

If you need something else, please feel free to ask!!!

@@Vickiw89 yes we are. That's why I don't think they'll move the time at all. So far it's ending at 11 and we're not having an "official" cocktail hour because we only have an hour and a half in between the ceremony and reception. We'd either be wasting half an hour from what we pay for the cocktail hour or half an hour from the reception (I vote reception haha). I'm just really settled on having it outside and so is my fiance. It's the whole reason why we're having a dw in the first place haha.

@@TinkerSofi my WC just got back to me and you can extend until whatever time! I've asked to extend until 1am. The first hour to extend is a special price at $9pp then it's $14pp because it's classed as out of hours service. I'm glad I've only got 40 guests!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
