@@TinkerSofi and everyone! OMG I feel sick! Just came across this banquet brochure http://www.weddingsbylomastravel.com/planning/Weddings_Banquet_kit_2014.pdf and the prices are totally different to the one I have originally being looking at. The 'family style' has gone from $38.00 to $89.00!! What's this about?!

Holy crap! Not sure where that banquet kit came from, but I JUST Received a banquet kit from my WC and the price is still $39 on it (I went back and looked when I read this)

I am going to send in my request for it now... Hoping to get it on my detail sheet for the $39. I know they can adjust pricing afterward because my wedding isn't this year, but by putting the price on paper I would have an argument to keep relatively close!!

Strange!!!

Here is the link to the pricing my WC just sent me, I'm thinking the weddingsbylomas website is not correct.

I realized that too and freaked out when I saw that. At first I thought it was an error, I mean how could pricing go up by that much??

I had my travel agent email and beacaue I had already booked my wedding and I had the old packet they are going to honor my pricing.

As a side note, seriously though?? I mean you might as well not have a destination wedding for those prices! I wish karisma would chime in here on the insane price increase. I understand inflation but that's beyond inflation!

Well I'm shitting it because I've only booked the always and forever package part, and I'm still waiting on confirmation of date! I did get in touch with the Miami office last week and Lynda Gomez said confirmation should be coming through soon. But I haven't booked anything else so they won't be obliged to honour any banquet prices if I haven't booked any yet will they? Oh dear I feel bloody ill!

I would really not panic.... Yet.

When you get your confirmation, she will send you ALL the information, including a banquet kit with pricing. As soon as you get this, open it and look at what THE COPY SHE SENDS YOU says. If it still says $39 get her to add it to your detail sheet ASAP. Like I said, she sent me a banquet kit less than a week ago, and the pricing is still the ones expected- so I fully expect her to put that price on my sheet or she will be getting an earful!

@@kmk2016 when you get the confirmation do they send all the info through at the same time?

Once they send you confirmation that your $200 was deposited you get a TON of information in one email, in this email she will attach a banquet kit.

UPDATE-

I just got a confirmation from Lynda with a revised detail sheet reflecting my request for the family style dinner. I currently have an estimate of 60 guests loaded on my detail sheet, and she added the family style meal to my private reception for a total of $2340 and listed all the items included in that menu. Doing the math, she has confirmed the price of $39 on my detail sheet

@@Vickiw89 that is crazy! where did you find that one? Something seems off because how can the BBQ deluxe be cheaper than the petit gourmet even though it has more food? I was going by the one that my wedding coordinator sent.

right? at $50 per plate it honestly costs me less to have a wedding at home. It's ridiculous. I went back to the link of the brochure that my coordinator sent me when we put our deposit and the price for the petit gourmet that we chose is still $22. This was less than a month ago in the first few days of June. Darn, I was thinking of upgrading to the BBQ deluxe for a few more bucks per person but I guess now I'll see whether they would honor the prices of the brochure they sent me or not.

On a side note, the brochure I have says prices are for 2013, and the one Vicki has says 2014. @@Vickiw89 don't freak out yet, they might honor the prices that they had when you put down the $200.

I swear sometimes they think money grows on trees over here. I got an e-mail on Friday saying that the natural flowers for the vintage elegance cake were $85, for 6 freaking flowers! I'm paying $100 for my bouquet to give you an idea. I tried to clarify just to make sure because it seems a bit unreal.

I rang my travel agent this morning to check for confirmation again and spoke to a different lady who told me that my paperwork was sent off 4 weeks ago! Not 9 weeks ago when I submitted it! I'm flipping fuming!! Arghh, she said she's going to put a 'chase' on it! I'm so pissed I don't know whether to laugh or cry! Feel like everything is totally up in the air and for a person who needs to know everything and plan to the finest detail, I actually carn't bare it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
