Something I'm kinda considering... Advice from you ladies would be greatly appreciated!

I'm considering not sending out formal invitations for our wedding... We have a wedding FB page and put the URL on the STD...

Do you think it's OK for me not to send formal invitations??

This is my biggest question right now too!

I sent save the dates out in March 2014 for my wedding in May 2015.

When putting out feelers just to see how many people might come, our guest really loved the idea of knowing well in advance and having a lot of time for a payment plan with the travel agent.

Most people already consider our save the date their invitation, but I still want to do a formal invite as well. I am leaning towards sending the formal invite in August, and having the deadline be October. That way I will know well in advance, how many people I need to be preparing for (OOT bags and favors), and those that needed a reminder will still have plenty of time to get on board and get their trip paid.

What  do you guys think?

Our final payments for our group is due in September. So we set an RSVP by August. I will mail out invites beginning of May, 3 months prior to RSVP due. Not sure if that is the norm, but that is my plan.

We sent out STDs last month (March) for a March 2015 wedding. Our rooms have to be paid by December so we are hoping to have people start booking sooner and give them plenty of time to pay up. We will be sending out formal invitations...I'm thinking sometime between July and August.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
