Where To Buy Flowers In Cancun For Diy Bouquet

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies!

My aunt is a florist and event planner (in south america) and will be attending the wedding. If we can get a hold of fresh flowers, she would like to make my bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets and boutonnieres. Does anyone know of any places that we can buy some once we are in Cancun and/or whether the Moon Palace will let you bring in flowers and do this?

Hi @@anvb82

Congrats!!

They do have flowers at Wal-Mart, I know that may not be what you are looking for though....I didn't look at them really, but I did see roses

You may want to contact my florist and see if she will sell you some loose flowers that you could go pick up from her shop.

I know that most flowers are flown in from mexico city, there isn't a "market" where she can go select her flowers, as I had some specific flower requests, and she wasn't sure how some of the flowers would look until they arrived since she doesn't get to hand pick them herself.

Her name is Vanessa Jaimes and she is based in cancun.

Here is a link to my sneak peek pics, so you can see the quality of flowers she can get

As with most in Mexico, she may take a few days to respond, but she is amazing!

I would wait until you are onsite with your wedding coordinator, and let them know that your aunt is making your bouquets for you. I am sure you will be fine and will not have to pay the fee, especially since she is staying at the resort.  If you say anything to your pre-planner, they are mostly just rule followers and will probably tell you that you need to pay the $800 outside vendor fee.

Good Luck!

Thank you @@Linds1204 :o) And congrats on the wedding! The pictures are absolutely beautiful.

This is super helpful! I will definitely get in touch with your florist. That is great advice about waiting until I'm there to talk to them about the flowers. The $800 vendor fee is very steep! FIngers crossed!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
