Reception Venues Punta Cana

Recommended Posts

Hi all! We have decided that our wedding will be in Punta Cana in May 2015.  I have been researching resorts.  The top ones I am looking at are Now Larimar, Iberostar Resorts (Punta Cana, Dominica, or Bavaro), and Barcelo Punta Cana.  I have also been looking at Melia Caribe Tropical as well.   My main concern I have noticed when researching the resorts is the reception. I am confused as I see some resorts have reception options, but do not offer music/dancing after dinner. Is this a separate place you have to rent that is not included in most wedding packages here?  I have noticed some of the packages have dinner in restaurants that are not completley private if you do not have more than 45 people.  I was wondering if anyone has any advice about which resorts offer private recepitons/dj service. I would greatly appreciate any advice! Thanks in advance!

We are getting married in December at Kukua Beach Club and staying at Now Larimar. We wanted a private location for both our ceremony and reception so that is why we have chosen to have ours off the resort. Our travel agent, Patty Jordan, is phenomenal. We told her what we were looking for in a resort for us and our guests, and she went above and beyond to helps us choose the perfect resort for us. She specializes in destination wedding travel in the Dominican Republic and is very familiar with most of the resorts down there. One of my best friends had her wedding and reception at the Jellyfish and stayed at Majestic Elegance. The Jellyfish was gorgeous!! Patty was also her travel agent!

It depends on the resort, most do offer private reception for any number of guests (I've had a wedding party of 4 and they were able to book private reception on the beach), you always have to pay extra for it.  Ask your wedding coordinator for a quote and they will e-mail you the details.

I also have a list of reception/wedding locations outside the resort, if you are looking for something more private.

You can e-mail me at julia@juliaeskin.com and I will send you the list and photos of the locations.

Hello ladies,

I've added couple of galleries to my website with different off resort locations.

There are more different amazing venues around Punta Cana that I've been to and just didn't have a chance to shoot a wedding there yet.  So feel free to e-mail me for more info.

I also have Patty and she has been amazing! I would recommend her, or anyone else from Wright Travel to anyone on here!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
