Any Other Calgary 2014 Brides?

Recommended Posts

I saw your post about you now thinking of changing resorts to a Karisma property.... I'm down there in 3 weeks if you need any info (attending the dress rehearsal).

oh my goodness that would be great! At this point we're not sure what to do. I mean I spent so much time researching GCR and we even went down there to check it out but they are extremely strict with their booking rules so we're thinking of switching. They also really do not give you much for bringing so many people down there. Unfortunately I don't think we'll have time to visit the Azul Five so any info you have would be amazing!

Some questions that I do have are how much is it to have a private reception and how much is the food for the reception?

I have a question for my fellow Calgary brides. Where are you shopping for a wedding dress?

"Ette",Sonia's Bridal and "S2" is where I would 100% go for a designer gown if I were buying locally. I am however having my dresses custom made by designer inspirations by Jasmines bridal overseas.

So many brides rave about the service and prices at Blissful Bridal that I have an appointment in 2 weeks here to make sure I like the silhouettes I'm considering before ordering- and you never know.... I could end up buying my reception dress here instead of the price is right!

I would stay away from Ethos and Bridal Centre. Both have terrible service, inflated prices and don't care about you are a bride. I used both in my first wedding when I thought they must be good since they are ao big- I have since heard so many of the same horror stories from other brides of being pushed to make a quick decision and getting terrible service throughout the process- never again!

I bought my dress for my first wedding at Ethos too. Where is Blissful Bridal? I tried David's for a bridesmaid dress. The service was so bad. We left really deflated. I have been looking online too because the prices are so good. I am nervous about buying such an important dress online though.

Thanks for the info

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
