When To Book All Inclusive Group Travel Packages From Canada

Recommended Posts

Yes @@kmk2016 has good advice! Different TAs really do get different quotes. Our 2nd TA has been much more responsive and she's given us a quote that is 100 less than our old TA. On top of that, we wanted to keep our costs below a certain costs for guests. At Palace resorts, there's a promo where you can get 1 credit for every 11 booked. So we've decided to redistribute the credits to the whole group instead of keeping them for ourselves so the resort price is more reasonable for everyone. And that way we get to have the wedding at the resort we want and benefit from people booking under our group package!

@@mazarin what is your departure city? I'm in Toronto and that sounds quite high for April...At least based on the quotes I got. I switched my agent once and the new agent is incredible. The rate the got me is well under the online price not to mention they help secure the date and will help with the planning postion as well for FREE!!!

We have our group rate locked in for $1560 and price goes up $150 if it wasn't paid in full by March 20/2014. Our wedding week is Oct 17-24 in Punta Cana for Majestic Elegance. We do get one price drop think its either 60 days before we leave from Toronto. We went with Marlin Travel.

@@SSarvi Thanks for the info. May I ask who's your agent? I am working with one ass well. I have noticed prices have gone down a bit. Our departure city is Toronto. I think waiting a little bit helped us in getting better prices.

Hey ladies!

I'm from Toronto....I would definitely recommend waiting until you're closer to your date!

We're getting married November 2014 and we originally got quotes in August 2013 - more than a year before BUT thought the prices were extremely HIGH!

Basically they don't know how much fuel is going to go up so they take prices out of a book! At least that's what I heard.

My fiance and I then got quotes a year before in November 2013 and they were STILL high....

We waited until February 2014 to book the group rate and it's gone so well!

I have 51 people (53 plus Fi and I) with deposits in with Sunwing - final payment is due in September!

Another thing that helped us is Sunwing was having a tax sale at the beginning of 2014 so we paid $265 tax instead of $425 for Jamaica! Doesn't seem like a lot but it really makes the difference from $1,500 OR $1,800.

My fiance and I really didn't want to go over $1,500 because we wanted as many ppl to come as possible!

Our guests got a great deal! $1,478 for 7 nights at the Royalton White Sands!

Good luck planning ladies!

Pam

@@mazarin I too have had quotes around the $2100 range for Cancun in April 2015. I wish I would've read this thread earlier as I felt from my TA the earlier I booked, the better the rates, perks, and credits. I would've waited a couple months to have the pp price be lower. I also wish I would've asked about the Price Drop Guarantee.... which I will do right now!

Thanks for the valuable info Ladies!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
