Has Anyone Had Their Dress Steamed/pressed At Sandals?

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I was wondering whether anyone out there has had their dress steamed at a Sandals? I'm getting married at Sandals Grande Antigua in May, and the hassle of transporting the dress super carefully to lessen wrinkles and then try to use a portable steamer when I am there is just too much stress.  My dress is taffeta, gets super wrinkled, and doesn't seem to respond to the steamy shower method.  I would at least like it to be wrinkle-free for the ceremony (afterwards it's fine, it actually looks fine with some wrinkles).

Does anybody have any experience using their services?

Thank you!  And thank you all for your posts that I'm learning so much from!

I spoke to my WC for Sandals Negril on Friday and asked this very question. She said steaming starts at $80 and goes up from there depending on the fabric/complexity of dress. I decided I'll bring my own hand held steamer instead of adding another cost haha. I would def check with your WC as it might be different prices on diff islands/resorts.

Thanks!  That's the same as they told me.  At first I was definitely against it, but now it seems worth it because of the headache and having to get the steamer, and the absolute certainty I would probably screw it up and would end up calling my FI in to talk me down....then he would see the dress.  For some reason, this is the "headache" for me--the one problem causing stress.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
