Hello all! In 2008, my husband and I began planning a destination wedding in Mexico, only we ended up splitting up. We then ended up back together, and I was pregnant, so we had a quick close-friends-and-family wedding. It was a beautiful wedding, but not what I hoped considering I was pregnant and couldn't even have a glass of champagne. We had our honeymoon in Cabo, which also was a babymoon. We are happily married with two kids today, and we want to make our 5th anniversary special (it's July 2015). I would really like a vow renewal ceremony in Cabo. I'm looking for ideas on what to do, where to do it, where to stay, etc. It wouldn't be many people. My mother and her partner; my sister-in-law, her husband, and their two kids; possibly and older couple; and a very big maybe for two other families. This needs to be a family friendly event as I want my children to be a part of it and it's likely their toddler cousins will also be there (they will be ages 2 and 4 at the time). I'm not looking for anything fancy because the thing that will make it most special is having our children with us. My only requirement is that I want to do a vow renewal ceremony on the beach. We would like to stay at an all-inclusive that caters to kids. And we are on a budget. I'm trying to get an early start on the planning so I can tell people how much they would likely need to save in order to go. Knowing what amount needs to be saved ahead of time might mean that more of our family/friends would like to join. But even if no one wants to go, I'd still like to go with my husband and kids. So are there any ideas on doing a simple, low-budget, vow renewal ceremony that would be family-friendly? Thanks.

Hi,  I got married and have 2 kids so we travel to kid friendly resorts all the time.

I would recommend Dreams or Riu.  They are both kid friendly resorts and do vow renewals.  They are both very different resorts so you would have to decide what resort would be better for your group.

If you want, email me and I can try to help :)

Congrats! And welcome to BDW. I'm working on a vow renewal for 2015 as well, but without the kids. Ours are all grown up and we have grandkids. It's second time around for both of us and I'm hoping that we'll get to do the vow renewal and celebrate something special!

I've been to Cabo a couple of times and it's gorgeous!! The Riu is beautiful and Dreams I've only seen from outside. Definitely talk to Tammy. She'll be a huge help! Plus you can take a look at the Resort Review section and see what other brides have had to say. There is no shortage of information here so enjoy!

Good luck and happy planning!!

My husband and I are planning our 8th anniversary vow renewal in Dec 2014. We are staying and having the ceremony at the Hilton. It is not all-inclusive but does seem very nice and have onsite restaurants. The wedding coordinator is very friendly and responsive. They gave us a quote within a few hours of us submitting the online inquiry.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
