Finding Out The Gender Of Your Baby?

Recommended Posts

@@jackshayne0123 how is your pregnancy going?

Hello! You're so sweet to ask,  I've been meaning to update everyone. I've been doing really well, 17 weeks tomorrow! I'm now 4 months along, into second trimester and things are awesome! I'm still feeling good, I have a little belly now, although if you didn't  know I was pregnant I just look like I had a big meal. I'm waiting for our next ultra sound so I can see the sweet babe again, and I'm anxious to start feeling movement in there too. We aren't going to find out the sex, but hubby thinks girl, and some friends think boy. We will see! It's fun to keep everyone guessing!

@@jackshayne0123 so exciting! I don't think I would not be able to find out! I think I would go crazy! Although I really am thinking about it well when the time comes haha! Probably not for a few years though yet!

Back when I was expecting both my boys (they are now 33 and 32 so yes it was back in the dark ages!) the technology was totally different than what it is now. We didn't have the 3-D pics you can get today. To get any kind of photo was a big deal, and i think they were just making photos available in the early 80s, and it was horrendously expensive!  Most of it was by the heart rate, and that definitely isn't reliable as one of my grandsons can prove. The ultrasound techs weren't allowed to talk to you at all, and if you wanted to know the gender you had to wait until they let your doctor know and find out then. It wasn't immediate like now.

I absolutely wanted to know for the same reasons as Tammy. I wanted to know for the room setup, the wallpaper (yes that's what we did back then), colours for clothes and of course for the name. Now there are babies weighing in at a pound and a half that survive beautifully, but my second was a preemie coming in at 5 lbs even, and they had the minister come in to ask me if I wanted to babtize him "just in case". He was considered tiny at that time!

It's funny to look back on it all now, especially with having 7 grandchildren and going through the pregnancies as a grandma to be instead of a mom to be, with each of them. It's an exciting time in your lives ladies. Enjoy it!! Once it's gone, you don't get the time back and you will find, unequivocaly that once you have children, time flies by in a way that you've never seen before!

Best wishes to all of you!!

That is a wonderful sentiment to pass on to us. Thank you for your wisdom. :)

I think waiting to find out is the way to go! I am a labour and delivery nurse and that excitement in the room when you don't know what your are having is sometimes the perfect encouragement to keep going when you feel like you can't!!

I will admit that I am a giant baby when it comes to pain. I do not handle it well at all. Watch out if I get a sliver. ahah. Anyway, I have always said I would wait because it may end up being my only motivation to push through it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
