@@girlinthecity97 I spoke to my wedding coordinator today and I'm going to bring a suitcase of all the "little things" and have generations set it up for a small set up fee. I'm going to purchase the gazebo and stereo system and flowers from the resort and approved vendors.

@@rtscent - oh nice! we are trying to figure out if we are going to do the stereo system or get a DJ.  As for flowers, I'm trying to figure that out too. I found a local floral vendor from another bride on here - there work is beautiful and far cheaper than Lomas.  I also found some real looking fakes I contemplating using since I want orchid blossoms submerged in tall glass cylinders. I just need to crunch the numbers to see which is the best way to go.  I'll most likely go approved for everything else.

@@rtscent - I'm not mad at you! I found a couple of places from this site that seem to do really nice fake flowers (like  http://www.bloombridal.com/ and ). If I go that route all the way are partly, I plan to get a suitcase from Goodwill and take all my wedding stuff in, then leave the suitcase there or find someplace to put it in the trash.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hello everyone!

I saw this this was an open forum for DW brides considering to get married at Generations RMY. I'm actually traveling there next week and I can send you some feedback (as long as I don't forget) when I come back from Mexico.

I'm thinking about having the ceremony in the chapel and using the (I think) sky pier for the reception. I fell in love with it! Hopefully it will be done by the time I arrive and if not, I'll keep you posted on the progress.

For those who have booked rooms at Generations RMY, what was your average nightly rate? I'm getting married in October 2015 so I'm hoping to chime into some great EBBs considering it still is a very new resort.

Happy planning!

@@Aliyedwinramirez congrats on the wedding plans! I'm getting married May 25, 2015 @ GRM and honeymooning at the El Dorado Castitas. I got a group rate through my TA/WP. For my group the average nightly rate is $232 per person / per night.

We are looking into flights now. I want to get married in the Chapel, but my wedding party might be too big for the chapel or the terrace, so most likely we will be on the beach. Take a bunch of pictures on your trip and have fun. Please email me your pictures or post them on the thread! Here is my email address melissamelange@@gmail.com

@@Aliyedwinramirez - welcome and CONGRATS (love Love LOVE your profile pic by the way!) :D  SO jealous you are going there next week! Are you staying as well?

I'm getting married February 2015 and our nightly rate is $301 (based on double occupancy).  I know mine is more because I'm getting married over President's Day weekend. We lucked up and found non-stop flights for $383/person so I'm all set with getting there and the photographer. I'm in the midst of working on all the other "little" details like invitations, dresses (self, mom, sister, niece and flower girls) etc..

Our wedding will be on the Sky Deck which I hear is still under construction & the reception will be on the covered pier. We have a good amount of senior relatives so we figured that'd be the safer route for them than the beach.

Congrats again & can't wait to hear your thoughts on the resort!

Hi, I just attended the grand opening event for Generations Maroma on Monday.  It is an amazing resort and the food is soooo good.

I will be there again in June to stay with my family so let me know how we can help.

We are diamond level 5 and in addition to the group amenities that have been offered, here:

We are also going to give our clients a couple massage for the bride and groom and both sets of parents (terms, exclusions, apply so contact us for more details).

Do you have any photos to share from Generations Maroma? I booked at EDR but was upgraded to Generations Maya Riviera  in April for 2 weeks and absolutley loved it! The Butler Service, Food, and Rooms were unbelievable! I just wish the beach was nicer.... hoping Maroma property will be the one!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
