@@girlinthecity97 since I think I am choosing the Pure Glamour theme i'm going with Blush and Gold.  I was worried my DF would find it too girly but he approved!  I definitely think I might use the monogram on some of our items like the welcome cards.

@@CnBWedding - that is going to be beautiful!  Which locations are you using?

@@rtscent - where are you!?!

Sooo I think I figured out how to get a pic up of my bag. Let me know if you all can't see it. I really like them and can't wait to assemble a mock one! :)

@girlinthecity I LOVE THEM!! So cute! I'm not bothered by the non-canvas either.. agree with your fiance that it works for the pool/beach thing perfectly. I was on this burlap/jute kick and I just sent the fiance a link to yours and he was like "oh thank God you found these instead"! So, doubly thank you for sharing ;)

It's this one, right? https://www.silkletter.com/promotional-boat-tote-bag.html

I saw this random shirt and I think it's hilarious: http://www.thuglifeshirts.com/products/hola-bitchachos-tankand I'm so tempted to borrow the idea for my bags... buttttttt I don't think the "grownups" in our party would appreciate that so much ;)

I looooooove the classic black and white/resort chic look in Mexico.. I am just so excited to see everyone's pics.

and @@CnBWedding we're also doing gold and blush, great minds!! I couldn't believe the fiance went for it either.   :)

I am a graphic designer and illustrator (on the nights and weekends, anyway!) and had the BEST time making my wedding invitations. I'm staring down a lot of travel for my "real" job over the next week and looking forward to plane time to create place cards, menus, welcome notes, etc. I posted on my blog a few weeks back about the process of making my own and the vendors I used to print, which was surprisingly kind of complicated to track down. http://www.ll-creative.com/blog/2015/1/4/my-destination-wedding-invitations

If they're of any interest to you, @@CnBWedding, I would be happy to update it with your information or tweak the colors and send you the files! The printing still cost about $200 because I had them tri-fold the invitations for me (I had no desire to do that) so they weren't super cheap, but it was nice to have something "custom" :) would be happy to share the love if they're your style!

@@girlinthecity97 so happy to hear that the rehearsal will likely happen in some form. We each have six people standing up with us, and a friend doing the ceremony for us... so it feels like lots of chances for oops-es!

We're at 73 right now for the wedding and I'm like 95% sure that that's final... but I am going to take your advice and add a few additionals just in case.

When do you actually leave for Mexico? I am so excited for you that it's SO soon!!

@@lauralane - SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO jealous you are able to design your own invites etc!!!! I LOVE your blog, site and wedding suite!  I wish I'd known you when I was working on mine! Thanks so much for the kudos on the bags. I feel like a proud parent where you think they are nice, but that doesn't necessarily mean everyone else genuinely does LOL.  am super happy how they turned out and think you will too if you purchase that option. So funny you were on a jute kick. I was as well but gave up because I couldn't find one at a price point DF would agree to.  I used this bag: https://www.silkletter.com/promotional-two-tone-boat-bag.html

Ii think I'm going to download your positive affirmation background because it is so spot on and beautiful! :)  That tank is hilarious but agree not everyone will be as amused.  Initially, I wanted to put "happy wife, happy life" on all OOT items but I got the side eye.

Rehearsal Update - So, AB bride clarified that they did NOT schedule a rehearsal because after doing the 2 hour walk through, she didn't feel it was necessary.  She said they are really accommodating and will do one if you ask and propose times.

We leave next Wednesday so this time next week, I will most likely being doing the walk through! :D I can't believe it...the closer things get and the more items arrive for my bags etc the more surreal things feel!

@@girlinthecity97 we are having the ceremony at the Pier and the cocktail and reception on the skydeck.  I am sooo excited for you!

@@lauralane OMG LOOOOOOOVE the site and the invitations you made. From the looks of the screenshot your website seems amazing as well.  I would be so happy and grateful for you to share your files.  That would be AMAZING.  Wow I'm so glad I found this thread, lol.  I told my fiancé about it and he said looks like you've found some new besties :-).  I also love the t-shirt idea.  Maybe there are some other quirky fun ones to be found on pinterest.

@@CnBWedding - that's great!  I will be sure to call out anything you need to know.  We are doing the reverse. Skydeck wedding & cocktail then the pier for reception. I hear you re finding wedding besties. My fiance was also happy when I found this site and started posting. I've basically been planning alone...I couldn't have done it without this site and my coworker!  :)

@@rtscent - hey lady! :) how's it going?!

Ok ladies, not sure if any of you are thinking about doing any type of floral hair accessories for yourself or members of your bridal party but I just received my mini-white orchids for my flower girls and niece (jr. bridesmaid) and LOVE them.  They truly are Real Touch and look exactly like the picture.  Linda (the shop owner) turned around the 3 sets within a day since I decided to buy these last minute (aka this week).  I ordered on Sunday and received them yesterday!

Hi All:

The clock is quickly winding down. Had a few minor melt downs over the weekend but that is largely due to lack of sleep.   I am on a mission to knock out the following & spend tomorrow picking up my dress, getting my lashes done, packing and hopefully getting a decent sleep!

  • Clothes - if you haven't already started thinking about what you are wearing during your stay DO IT NOW!!!!! LOL Somehow I forgot this "minor" detail and have been running around trying to find cute beachy wear in the Northeast winter!  Dear Fiance became a rain cloud of helpfulness (instead of "reality" LOL) and suggested I look online and do overnight/next day delivery since it will cost about the same as driving all over. So I'm eagerly awaiting those packages to arrive.  It is snowing so if there is a delay, I will just buy clothes in Mexico. DONE!  On a side note, I am HIGHLY annoyed it took him less than 30 min to pull out a 7 day wardrobe! LOL

  • Table Numbers - DONE and look fab in their frames! Time for bubble wrapping.

  • Welcome Cards & Itinerary - off I go to Paper Source....they look bland and sad. :( Hopefully I can find something there to spruce things up! Azul Bride also was gracious enough to share her template with me so that helps get this solved, now to "play" with printing.

  • Escort Cards - tonight's late night project

  • Bug Spray & "Nod to our Roots" label - tonight's other late night project.

Thanks for "listening" to my countdown rant. :)

Ya so soon now, when do you fly out?

I feel you on the clothes, you kind of forget about all that stuff in wedding planning mode. I scrambled for myself and for some items for my kids.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
