Hi everybody!!  We just got engaged in December, and since we've always wanted a DW, I found this site right away and started reading!!  So much good information but it has been tricky finding the right place for our wedding - our nephew is 2 and will be attending, so we need a child-friendly resort.  We have been to Secrets Wild Orchid in Montego Bay and loved it so the Riu there is a possibility, and we're also considering Bermuda because we have family there.  The child-friendly Iberostar in Rose Hall is booked for our date already.

 

Our wedding date will be April 25, 2015.  I'm working with a travel agent at Wright that has been very helpful so far, but I figured might as well post here too in case anyone had any ideas!

Congrats and welcome to the site! I know you will find all kinds of tips and information that will help you with putting together your DW!

 

Have you considered the Gran Bahia Principe Jamaica? It's in beautiful Runaway Bay and is a kid friendly resort. It's reasonably priced as well for your guests consideration. We got married there and loved it! There is also a new Karisma resort in Negril that just opened. It may be a bit pricey and I'm not completely certain that it's family oriented but it may be worth a look too. As well you can always look up the Resort Reviews and see what other brides have said about the resorts. Sometimes a recommendation is more reassuring than just looking something up yourself.

 

You'll enjoy working with Wright Travel. They are trained professionals in destination weddings!

Thank you so much for the suggestions and good wishes!  The Gran Bahia looks beautiful, we're definitely going to start researching that one ASAP. It's really great to know that you were married there and loved it, the recommendation from someone who had a first-hand experience is very reassuring.

 

Wright Travel has been amazing so far, the woman I've been working with has been on top of everything and is already emailing the Gran Bahia to find out if our date is available.

 

Hopefully we'll have a resort booked soon and I can get to the even more fun stuff, like my dress!! :)

Hey!! Our wedding is on the same day ???????????? and I also got engaged in December how awesome is that lol my wedding is going to be in Negril Jamaica at the sandals beaches resort. I'm excited and overwhelmed all at the same time ????????????????

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes!!  We're going to Jamaica in a month to look at the Riu Montego Bay and the Royalton White Sands, so excited!!!

 

So fun that we have the same wedding day Mzlisa27!!!  Hopefully it'll be a beautiful day in Jamaica for both of us   :)

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
