Villa Wedding In Turks And Caicos Feb 2015

Hi Everyone,

I'm new here and recently engaged! I'm planning to marry in Feb 2015 in Turks and Caicos at the Crossing Palms Villa on Longa Bay Beach. My wedding party will include 4 bridesmaids and groomsmen; 2 Dads, 3 moms for a total of 13 people not including myself and the groom. Our colors are tangerine, peach/coral and cream. We're inviting 30 people excluding the wedding party.

We've been looking for ways to cut costs without totally compromising the wedding and so far we've done the following:

1. Traditional bouquets and boutonnieres quoted cost: $ 1,000.00

1A. Instead we'll be using brooches and creating brooch bouquets and boutonnieres. So far I've spent about $200, and a little over 75% complete so I don't expect to spend more than another $100 - $125. Total savings $700.00

2.Traditional cocktail hour and wedding reception (plated dinner following the cocktail hour) - some of the estimated costs were fairly steep ranging from $5k to $10k depending on the resort.

2A. Instead since the wedding will be at a private villa with pool and swim up bar, we'll be doing a reception Beach BBQ/pool party with open bar and iPod for music. We've been quoted about $3500. Total savings $1,500.00

3. Wedding cake for 40 people we were quoted about $600

3A. Since everything will be outdoors and the catering company will come with cake and other desserts we felt a traditional wedding cake would potentially melt etc so we're not having 1 and we don't think anyone will miss it. Lol... total savinigs $600

Overall, we think about all the weddings we've been to and we think about which items were memorable to us. Of which the main things were the overall atmosphere, the wedding setup/decor and the amount of fun we did or did not have during the reception. We quickly realized that spending a lot of money on items no one would remember or care about was not the best for us. If you guys have any other tips/ideas/advice please let me know! And by all means, if you can afford to go all out then do what your heart desires!!!! Happy planning all

*** On anoter note, if anyone has information regarding another catering company aside from the obvious island favorite, please let me know

Congrats and welcome! You have so much planning done already that is so awesome. I am getting married in T&C too, can I ask where you got your floral quote from? Is Environmental Arts the only/best florist for the area?

@@Tiyra ah okay. Yes I have a wedding planner through my resort. I guess when you factor in that your quote was for 5 bouquets + bouts it's not terrible. Still trying to figure out how much my bouquet will be or if my mom and I can just visit the florist a couple days before and buy the flowers to make the bouquet ourselves.

Happy planning!!

Hi Everyone,

We just completed services for Dave & Christina Cogan for their villa wedding in Turks & Caicos.

They had a small party of about 30, so their setup footprint was also relatively small. We can provide really nice services for your wedding on a relatively small budget. No matter what you ask for, the finished product will be excellent.

More money only dictates a larger scale. Whatever you decide on will be special; regardless of what you paid.

We posted photos of the Cogan's setup on our facebook page:

Thanks.

Daniel (DJ Viper).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
