Recommended Posts

Hello @@KBrose. Congrats on your wedding. We are planning a punta cana wedding for july 2015 but have not decided on the resort. Dreams is on our list. Do you have pictures from your wedding reception? How many guests did you have? And if you dont me asking what was the end cost for the wedding?

Thank You

Just got back from my wedding at Dreams Palm Beach on 2-20-14!  EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT!!!!  I highly recommend DPB!!! Let me know if you have questions!

Congrats @@KBrose! How exciting! I'm happy everything was perfect for you :) I'm getting married there in July so its awesome to hear a recent bride having such a great experience. I'm having my ceremony on the beach and the reception poolside. Wondering if you did the same? Looking back, is there anything you wish you would have done? Or even could have done without? I don't want to bombard you with a ton of questions...but I'd love to hear about your wedding! Any chance you will be doing an actual review?

@@JAJELLE41 We had our ceremony at the Garden Gazebo - the beach will be beautiful too. I was just a little concerned about the wind.  It was pretty windy the first week we were in Punta Cana, but the second week wasn't windy at all.  We had our reception on the pool island.  You will love the pool!  To answer your question about anything I'd change... Everything was perfect!  The resort/wedding coordinator (Julie) went so far above and beyond my expectations I don't think I would change anything... I added a lot of extras, but it was so worth it. We had a cigar roller and carribean trio at our coctail hour following the ceremony and it was so much fun!!!  Our group was 45 people and last minute we decided to add a welcome coctail hour the day everyone arrived... I really didn't want to do that because I didn't want to make people feel like they were being told what to do on their vacation, but it ended up being great.  It was just one hour with drinks and appetizers in one of their ballrooms.. everyone thought it was a nice touch.. so if you aren't doing that you might want to consider something like that, or dinner with everyone if you have a smaller group.

I probably should do an official review of the resort because I am a HUGE fan of Dreams Resorts. I've been to Dreams Palm Beach twice in the past 3 years and to another Dreams in Riviera Maya and have had GREAT experiences everytime!  I feel like I am part of the Dreams family now! :)  You will not regret having your wedding there!

I don't mind the questions so if you think of anything specific, just let me know!!

Good morning her name is Johanna Rivera

@@kellymiller What photographer did you use? And if you dont mind what was your end costs with your locations and number of guest?

We just sent out our save the dates so we don't know the final guest count or the final costs. I'm not sure what photographer we are going with, maybe HDC based on the reviews on here.

We will be getting married at DPB in June 2015. We stayed there in 2009 so looked no further when choosing the hotel, it is a beautiful place!!

We chose the garden gazebo, because it can be pretty windy on the beach! Pool side location for the reception :)

Is anyone out there have a civil ceremony? I feel like most weddings tend to be symbolic?

@@lisamcintyrex I chose the garden gazebo and pool side for mine as well! I'm pretty excited!

I am doing a symbolic ceremony. When we sent in our reservation form they said they only had room for a symbolic ceremony that day. From what I understand they can only done civil ceremonies in the morning (like 10am) and there is only one judge who does them in the whole county, so it would be pretty difficult to get the day and time you wanted to do a civil ceremony.

My FI and I were debating which to do, but when we got the form back saying it could only be symbolic we didn't really have a choice!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
