I've been looking at getting Moon Palace for my April 2015 wedding, but my quotes have been quite expensive for airfare n hotel for a week, about $2500 a person all together, tax include. I initially wanted Hard Rock Hotel in Punta Cana, but had to change my mind because the price was about $2600 a person a week, which I thought was too pricey for my guests to pay. But now it seems like Moon Palace in Cancun is pretty much the same. We're flying in from Vancouver, has anyone else been quoted for roughly the same??? I didn't realize it would be so expensive, I heard April, especially the end of April would be cheap since it's after Spring Break.

Welcome to the site! And congrats on planning your destination wedding!

I've only had experience with October pricing and I'm in the Toronto area but I did a quick search on the price of flights out of Toronto leaving this April just to see, and depending on the carrier and how long you're going for, it did come in at just over $2200. I looked at Vancouver departures for family for October and the price difference is about $200 so looking at it that way $2500 doesn't seem that bad. I agree that's a lot of money though and definitely something to consider for your guests. The other thing I've found too is that the prices are always higher when you book really far in advance. I know when you're dealing with a large group you want to make sure everyone that wants to go, can go and not have to worry whether there is space or not. With all the resort options in the Riviera Maya or Cancun area, I'm sure there would be something else that might give you a better price option. This site is a great resource for resorts and information.

Good luck and happy planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
